My husband, son and I stayed here in order to visit our daughter in Brighton. We wanted to be close to Brighton but somewhere quiet and tranquil and this B & B was perfect. 20 minutes from Brighton centre but tucked away in a rural setting. The cottage accommodation is charming and restful and very nicely furnished with a lovely... More

Stayed at Lantern Cottage in August so we could travel to Brighton easily for shopping and eating out. The cottage was very well appointed and the owner made every effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was lovely and my coffee was made especially strong which illustrates the attention to detail that the owner goes to... More

The proprietor Debbie has the highest of standards, with a maximum of say 8 guests, you more or less get individual attention. The property occupies a very quiet cul-de-sac,with the actual cottage presenting a quality facade.

We stayed at Lantern Cottage in July and thoroughly appreciated the hospitality at what we found to be a fine B and B. The property was tastefully decorated and appeared spotlessly clean. Importantly, our bed was very comfortable and breakfast was tasty and well presented. Our room had a private ensuite, television and tea and coffee making facilities. Tripadvisor suggests... More

A nice b and b which ticks all the boxes - clean well appointed en suite room with comfy bed; excellent breakfast and a host who wants to please. If one wanted to be picky it would have been nice if there had been garden furniture to use as the weather was very nice and if a bottle opener is... More

A lovely B&B in a delightful old cottage. Room retained it's cottage character but yet modern, immaculate and bright extremely comfy bed. Owner is keen to ensure you have a perfect stay - even lent me a torch! Definitely recommend staying. Quality of breakfast superb.

I normally stay in hotels when working away but was recommended the Lantern Cottage B&B and thought I would give it a try. Well I couldn't have been more satisfied. The house is delightful, as is the host and the room very tastefully decorated. I enjoyed 2 very comfortable nights there, along with the best breakfast a man could ask... More

If needing a place to stay in this part of Sussex you might consider one of the well-advertised chain hotels but why would you when you could stay somewhere a little bit different, like Lantern Cottage. It's in a great location with easy access to Brighton, the South Downs and Gatwick, set back from the main road so beautifully peaceful... More

We would definitely recommend this lovely cottage as an ideal place to stay for access to the south downs and Brighton. Rooms were spacious, breakfasts were good and the bed was very comfortable and in a really peaceful part of the countryside, set well back from the main road. Will stay here again!
