One of the nicest B&B rooms we've stayed in, with great hospitality and tips on the area from Stephanie and Giles. Location is great with bus on the doorstep and park and ride easily accessible for trips to traffic-clogged Bath. Plus two great pubs in stumbling distance. Only downside of location is that it's on the main road, so if... more

The room was gorgeous and the location was perfect for us, only a 10 minutes drive into Bath. Lovely 16th century pub called The George just metres from the front door, the food was amazing and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the ale! Stephanie and Giles were extremely welcoming and cooked a great fry up all with local produce! Would def... more

We were given a 2 night stay at the Plaine as a Christmas/ Birthday present. The room, with extremely comfortable 4 poster bed was beautifully furnished. The owners have created a welcoming, relaxing & informal guest house which was a great base for a weekend exploring Bath & the surrounding country side. An excellent breakfast set you up for the... more

The uncluttered village surrounds the imposing 500 year old Cotswold stone home of Giles and Stephanie whose hospitality and food was enhanced by a list of practical suggestions which meant we stayed three nights instead of two. We embraced Bath by bus and sloped off to Salisbury and Shaftesbury on fast and uncluttered highways. We will be back for more... more

The Plaine was a lovely place to stay. In a beautiful village with so much to do in the surrounding area. We had a nice room in the B&B with a friendly warm welcome from Giles and Steph. They were also very helpful in rocommending places to eat and visit. more

We stayed at the Plaine for a long weekend, from the 12th-15th December........ Got a warm greeting from Steph & Giles on arrival, the room was lovley, as described on the website.... Just need to say I have seen a couple of reviews on here of people who were not happy about the "small" amount of tea and coffee that... more

We both really enjoyed our stay at the Plaine, and were made to feel extremley welcome. Also we liked the recomendations on where to visit over the delicious breckfast, which was really nice as we would have missed some lovely sights. Bath is easy to access using the Bus and the park and ride locally. Would recommend to anyone and... more

We stayed here for a 3night Honeymoon in early December, and had a fantastic time. After reading some of the reviews, and never staying at a guesthouse i was expecting Stephanie and Giles to be older and intrusive. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are a young couple who were pleasant but never intrusive. They gave us good... more

We were hoping to stay in Bath itself, but had to look further afield because it was a holiday when we visited and rooms were scarce. Another B&B recommended the Plaine. We were very pleased to find on arrival that the Plaine is in a delightful village. Our stay there was a pleasant refuge from a week in London (at... more

We stayed at the Plaine in October this year. It was, overall, a pleasant and comfortable place to stay. It is a stunning property from the outside (and hall) in a pretty village straight out of a Dickens book. On arrival, Stephanie was very welcoming and told us about "stunning views" behind the George pub. When we went to have... more
