Recently renovated, to a high standard, in conjunction with the George and the fleur de lys, an overall fantastic stay, very clean room, everything you would expect from a guesthouse, food was great, not one problem with our stay, very very nice and helpful staff, couldn't have done more for us, everything is a very close driving distance, bath not... We had the misfortune to be allocated the two ground floor double rooms. The good - fluffy white towels and linen . That's it !!! The bad and ugly - Filthy carpets, mould growing on the inside of the antiquated double glazed windows, shower in one room not working , inadequate lighting , rising damp evident all over building ,... Stephanie was warm and helpful, giving us solid advice and clear directions to where we wanted to go. There were two pubs on the same intersection as the guesthouse. The bathroom was clean, the beds comfortable. Breakfast was good, and served in a cozy dining room. This is a very old house, and I wouldn't recommend it for people with... More

Travelling with 2 small kids is not always easy, but the owners made us feel very welcome and the boys were well catered for. The building and rooms have loads of character and are very well maintained and impeccably clean and tidy. The breakfast is homely and can be tailored to your tastes. Its also refreshing to be offered top... More

This was a nice B&B only about 9 miles from Bath. We had a family room for 2 aduts and 2 children, given this the room was a little small. Breakfast was good, but a bit restricted, if you ordered just sausage and eggs for example you still only got 1 sausage and 1 egg!

We were recommended this b&b by the George Inn across the road and we thought it was fantastic. When we arrived we were greeted by Giles who showed us to our gorgeous bedroom, with beautiful furniture and a four poster bed. We went across to the George for a beautiful meal. We were given a key to the front door,... More

Two US girls traveling one night got lost and found this gem of a place. Thanks to a recommendation down the road we were able to drop in unannounced and rent a room for the evening. This was off the beaten path for us. We picked the front ground room because it was a twin. We were worried the traffic... More

We stayed here overnight as we had an appointment in Bath in the morning. Very nice family, lovely breakfast cooked for us early as requested and a very easy commute into Bath in the morning - 10 minutes. The pub across the road was an additional bonus with a red thai curry with monk fish on the menu as well... More

This is a very old building. It is situated at the top of a hill by the crossroads. Despite the secondary glazing it was noisy. The bedroom we had was a strange shape with a small en-suite. The four poster was a small double. The breakfast was very good. The best connection to wifi was from the pub across the... More

My husband and I visited our son who has recently relocated to Bath. We couldn't find anything suitable in Bath itself at a reasonable price, but managed to find The Plaine through Tripadvisor. We were delighted with everything. The guesthouse was comfortable and welcoming with a delicious freshly cooked breakfast. The village was a revelation! We watched England v Slovenia... More
