The hotel doesn't look very grand but the interior is nice. The room is simply beautiful. I have this pleasant feeling when I stepped into the room. Dinner was simply superb. At the onzen, I had the experience of using the best massage chair I have ever comes across. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember the brand of the chair...

Tachibanaya is a traditional ryokan with its own garden, onsen and Okami. The building looks like it could need a fresh coat of paint from the outside but the interior is clean, well maintained and it looks new. I like the traditional Japanese feel in the building. Lovely location. Great hot springs. Great view from our room of river and mountains. Local market nearby.

We came here after climbing Dewa Sanzan. We stayed at the summit of Mt Gassan the night before, so we were ready for some luxury.
