A traditoional Ryokan at a great loaction, by the river and the Kumano Kodo: Real nice staff (but, well, everybody is so nice in Japan, at least outside Tokyo!), great Japanese food, and a truly Japanese atmosphere. Be prepared to enjoy a real Japanese experienece. Do some trelkking in the Kumano Kodo and then come here relax in the outdoor... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this ryokan. It was at the end of our three days of hiking the Kumano Kodo and it was a lovely punctuation to our travels. We were greeted warmly and were impressed with both the accommodation and the onsen/rotemburo. Unlike other travellers, we had no difficulties accessing the rotemburo - perhaps as we were... More

First book this hotel through the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage site: http://www.kumano-travel.com/index/en/action_ModelCourseDetail_Detail/id58. I had a fantastic experience with this org, as they were there to answer all my questions and also arrange a luggage transfer service. This hotel was my last stop on the journey. The onsen was beautiful, the best one I'd seen. The food was really good - fresh... More

Yunomine onsen is a small but charming onsen street lined with many ryokans. I booked Yoshinoya ryokan based on the fact that it is next to Tsuboyu, the only UNESCO World Heritage onsen in Japan, which I have always wanted to experience. When I arrived in Yunomine onsen, I was glad I chose Yoshinoya ryokan. It is directly next to... More

Yunomine Onsen is a pretty small town so this hotel being next to the end of the Kumano Kodo path is helpful but probably most hotels in the town would be a good location. The rooms were fine and the baths are nice. They also has an outdoor bath. The food was pretty good and we had the beef shabu... More

Nice little hotel right on the Kumano Kudo path through the village of Yunomine. They serve fantastic dinners and breakfasts and the private Onsen bath in the hotel is really nice. The world heritage little wooden hut in the middle of the creek with a tiny Onsen inside is just outside and is a must!

Tucked between forest covered mountains lies the wonderfull little village of Yunomine, famous for the Unesco World Heritage Tsuboyu onsen. After visiting Tanabe down the coast of Kii Peninsula we took the bus and headed inland for Yunomine. Thanks to the exceptionally good web pages of Tanabe city Kumano tourism bureau, travel planning was made easy and we got to... More

Yoshinoya is a charming "ryokan" in the middle of the Kii Peninsula. After driving for a few hours from Koya-San, we arrived at Yunomine (the onsen town). The owner of Yoshinoya came out and helped park our rental car next to the rotemburo (outdoor onsen). After checking-in, he helped bring our heavy suitcase up to the room and showed us... More

On your trail to Hongu we made a detour and stopped an Yunomine. We stayed there two days. It was amazing coming down through the dense forest and smelling first the hot termal water before seeing the village. The village is quite small and is situated along the river. The ryokan lies perfectly almost on the hiking trail to Hongu... More

After a 13 hours flight, we rented a car at KIX and drove into the sacred moutains to deep immediately in the far Japan. What a surprise at Yonomine village!! There is a great onsen and a wonderful place to stay: the Yoshinoya Ryokan. People at the ryokan speak a very limited english. Whatever, they do their best to welcome... More
