The hotel staff member bothered to pick us up at Oboke station with amiable smile, though it was the busiest GW season. In addition in the guest room a female staff member bothered to bring a large Yukata to me (because I'm tall). This hotel is qualified as the first-class accommodation. The supper and breakfast were elaborately prepared and both... More

After being collected by the hotel shuttle, I was greeted by my name on a banner outside, a flag on the reception desk and even an origami crane made from my nations flag in my room. Staff were very attentive and very patient with my attempts at Japanese. They really try to make international guests feel welcome. I had a... More

Mannaka is a traditional Onsen hotel but advances with time. The place is well maintained and in-room amenities are new. There is a small mist machine inside your room. The dinner and breakfast provided were delicious and filled with wonderful local ingredients. Their Onsen is nice although probably not the best ones. But the hospitality of the staff is superb.... We chose this ryokan for its price and location as it is the nearest one to the Ooboke JR Station and we are so glad of our choice! The service is impeccable and really thoughtful. We were warmly greeted by the staff at the JR station who picked us there to the hotel. All the staff we met were really... More

The first thing you will note about this hotel is it is located metres from a huge red steel road bridge. Don't worry, the windows are double glazed and the roar of the rapids right below the hotel mask transport noise but it takes some getting used to. It's a bit pricey to stay here AU$360 for two considering the... More

Shikoku is a wonderful area to add to your list of holiday locations if you are visiting Japan. A famous temple pilgrimage route runs through the island and the mountains of Shikoku allow a glimpse into the history of Japan without the soaring skyscrapers and cityscape looming in the background. If you are touring here along the route 32 tourist... More
