We arrived at the hotel late due to the flight delayed. We were greeted by a young Japanese girl who spoken surprisingly good English. It turned out she was the daughter of the owner and had studied abroad. She had made our stay much easier! We chose a room called "Peony - with in-room onsen". It was a great choice.... More

My boyfriend and me are backpacking. Japan itself is in general really hard on our budget. So we never expected to be able to afford one night in a real ryokan. But we still kept looking for a possibility and tadaa. ... oomuraya offers some simple tatami rooms with an hour in a private onsen, as well as a public... More

Clean, Good Price, Sufficient English Speaking, Value for money. I enjoyed the walk surrounding the hotel. Shops are not plenty around the hotel. The environment is good. I would recommend this hotel with practical and leisure. Definitely not a luxury hotel but comfortable and easy. Helpful staff.

I had a room with a river and mountain view which was a welcoming morning sight to each lovely day. The tatami room was large with attached bath and toilet facilities. The in-room green tea leaves were truly good quality and the kaiseki dinner was really the highlight of the day. Each dinner came with a personally managed menu by... More

There is absolutely nothing bad about the experience I had here. The business is family run and the staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The hotel is in the perfect location with all kinds of restaurants, retail stores, and markets in a short walking distance. It is a very clean and beautiful hotel which gave me an overall pleasant feeling... More

To add, 1 of the room service lady that served us b'fast, speaks little English too. And when we checked out, the sweet lady whom chat with us the night before, left us a note, that's sweet. Oh, her sweet name is Ayako. Thank you Ayako & the team of Ryokan Omuraya.

Very nice Ryokan ambiance, cozy resting corner, no doubt the staff don't speak English, but she'll always put on her smile & attend to us. There's a young lady, it's the daughter of the boss speaks good English as she worked in the states before, we have a very good chat with her when she got the time. Amazing tofu... More

We stayed at this hotel during our first trip to Japan. The staff was very professional and overwhelmingly pleasant, although English skills were limited (except for one girl from the reception with very good English). Private baths can be booked for free at a hourly basis. The one we used was big and very clean. Also the other facilities were... More
