Excellent team. They welcomed us at the front entrance and took our suitcase to our rooms. Location: alittle hard to locate even with the car's gps. Finally we found it on our thrid try using google map. Ryokan is very close to the airport and the rinku outlet mall. Wifi- only available at the lobby Dining- dinner was good. They... More

The ryokan was lovely, just as I pictured it. The gardens were very serene even in the rain and I liked all the little paths. The room was large, with tatami mats on the floor. Interesting ceilings with wooden poles and there was a lovely view of the garden. The dinner meal was spectacular with 10 courses of Japanese exquisitely... More

Our stay at Nantenen was definitely one of the big highlights of the trip. I was concerned at first about it being too remote, but as it turned out the location was perfect. This type of place wouldn't be possible inside of Osaka. The grounds and surrounding gardens were out of a movie. I loved waking up early and walking... More

Culture, serenity, stunning scenery, and impeccable service in one place. My full review here :) https://frustratedbillionaire.wordpress.com/2015/03/29/inside-a-101-year-old-ryokan-traditional-japanese-inn/

My wife and I spent a week in Tokyo and wanted to come here for the scenic vistas and relaxing atmosphere. We were not disappointed. The rooms were very welcoming and extremely clean, the staff was at our service the entire time we were there, offering warm greetings in the morning and cheerful bed-down service in the evening. The onsen... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night. The whole experience was absolutely enjoyable and definitely not one to miss. We felt like we got a good ryokan experience here. The service ws phenomenal and personal. We had the cheapest kaiseki meal option and found that it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend it. The variety of flavours... More

I picked this ryokan partly because of the reviews here- and I wasn't disappointed. Firstly the location is a bit remote, but when coming from Osaka it's actually quite easy. The small town is part of the charm. The Inn is right next to the train station so when you arrive in Amami it's easy. The customer service is impeccable... More

We chose this Ryokan for a more traditional experience and weren't disappointed. The rather remote location is beautiful, quite but also really easy to get to (the property is right next to the train station). The owners are so friendly and welcoming, and the onsen was a great relaxing experience for us. Spending a night in one of these establishments... More

We traveled down to Nanten En from Namba Osaka using the Nankai Koyaline. Despite the remote location in the mountainous valley, it was actually less than an hour train ride away, highly recommended Ryokan for the quiet surroundings (we can only hear the sound of birds and insects. We were so pampered the moment we step in to the Ryokan... More

I still call it a great stay despite the slightly off-putting smell of the room and the relatively tiny onsen. We had the top-up options of Kobe beef and abalone, which made the kaiseki so much more of an experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. The building and the garden are what make the stay special.
