I love this place! This was my first time staying in a ryokan and it was a perfect first experience. Location is only about a short 10 mins walk from the train station. Not sure why other reviewers are complaining about the distance but it wasn't very far for me. The road is a bit bumpy if you are pulling... More

We stayed in this beautiful resort for two nights. There was only one room in a bungalow, so that you could enjoy the strictly high degree of privacy. 1 You can't miss the dinner. The food was excellent with different choices and really fresh seafood. The dinning place was warm, cozy and comfortable. But make sure you arrive before 8p.m.... More

Stayed here for 3 nights recently. Location is about 15 minutes easy walk from train station. The rooms are set in standalone units and fashioned in Japanese ryokan style. Mine had an attached toilet (no bath, but with a state of art Jap WC+bidet). Staff was welcoming and eager to please. We paid for breakfast and dinner and it was... More

The grounds of Makiba no Ie are really lovely. The entrance is a path winding past several of the guest huts, and looks very inviting. We also enjoyed exploring the back where one of the onsen baths is located; a short walk beyond leads to a large field and you’re right in the rural countryside. Having spent most of my... More

Stayed in this exquisite place for 2 night. We loved everything about it. Had a deluxe Japanese stile house and it was truly a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, the staff sooo sweet and lovely. Would go back there in a heart beat!

A 15 minute walk from the station and you get to this place which offers a couple of huts with 2 tot 3 rooms per hut. We we're kinda worried we might not have our own toilet because we've read somewhere not all huts have a bathroom. All huts do have toilets but not all huts have a shower...though you... More

The place is about 10-15 mniute walk from Yufuin JR station. And it's close to the walking trails leading to Lake Kinlin. The property is nicely designed and each room is a standalone cottage. The two main onsen pools are very big (bigger than some larger scale onsen hotels) and nicely decorated - and they are never crowded. The pork... More

Although we stayed in another smaller and a little better ryokan before, this place is amazing. Of course there are the beautiful rooms with paper screened sliding doors, tatami mats and the futon to sleep on. But the setting and the Onsen are really spectacular. There are two Onsen for men and women but they change daily. So stay two... More

The property was about a 10 minute slow walk (with luggage) from the station. This is a traditional ryokan style property. We had a large cottage with separate lounge, sleeping area and private toilet areas. Despite it being the middle of winter, there was a good level of heating, which made our cottage a comfortably warm. Friendly staff made us... More

I stayed in this ryokan with my partner on our trip to the onsen (hot springs) town of Yufuin. This property is located approximately 10 minutes walk from the Yufuin train station. It was very easy to find and the walk was pleasant as the views of the mountain in front of us were incredible. We arrived at 10.30am and... More
