3世代5名で宿泊しました。建物が古いことは知っていましたので「静かな」宿は期待していませんでしたが、あそこまで音に悩まされるとは思いませんでした。外湯めぐりには便利な立地ですが、メインの通りに面しているので通行人の大きな話し声や下駄の「カランコロン」という音が耳についてしまって読書にも集中できないし、早めに就寝しようと思っても外湯が23時まで営業していることもあり、なかなか寝付けませんでした。お食事・サービス・お風呂はまずまずでしたので、お部屋さえ良かったら印象は違ったと思います。私たちは道路に面した2階の二間続きの和室に泊まりましたが、反対側のお庭に面したお部屋でしたがもう少しは静かだと思います。 Rooms facing the gaeden may be less noisy. Meals, service, baths are not bad. If you like historical old buildings, go for it!

The dinner is so good that we totally cannot imagine. The room is big including 3 bedrooms, 1 living room and 1 toilet. The view from window is a big Japanese style garden. Stayed here for three nights- outstanding place, really made the trip. It's a gorgeous immaculate roykan, we stayed in traditional rooms but I think you can request both. Stayed here for 1 night in end Nov last year. Great ryokan, v atmospheric and historical building plus very good service. We were upgraded to a suite that was featured in the website, hence the room was excellent and near perfection. However, the dinner (crab kaiseki) was way below our expectations.
