We arrived at the hotel on Thursday night at about 7ish. First thing that hit us was the smell. Very unpleasant like a nasty air freshner!!! We were dealt with fairly quickly at the reception. Went to our room which had the thinnest duvet cover on it and only a pillow each, we did a quick scan on the room... More

We found this hotel at the last minute when taking a quick trip to U.K. After making the booking I had some misgivings upon reading some of the negative reviews on this site. I need not have worried however. The manager and his staff were friendly and very helpful right from the moment my family walked in the door. I... More

A tired unloved building with a great history. Our visit started with a trudge over worn carpet to not being welcomed by the frosty unhappy chap behind the bar. After Mr unpleasant waved us impatiently to a table we were soon told that we were not allowed at this table with our dogs. The menu was a fair selection though... More

I stayed here with business for one night in January. My room was up in the attick, but was sl full of character. Lovely little lead lined windows, high ceilings and a comfy bed. In the height of the winter I relied on the electric to keep the room warm but I wasn't surprised it was cold when I drew... More

Hotel was in a good enough location for where we were visiting. Arrived at 9pm after travelling for for 4 hours. We were given our fob and told our room was on the 3rd floor. We made our way to our room. When entering the room we noticed a big cobweb hanging from the Middle of the ceiling. The painting... More

Ate in this hotel for the first time yesterday and what a disappointment. Although the food looked ok to begin with, soon realised all the meat had been reheated or over cooked as it was all tough and dark brown. The vegetables were completely tasteless and I just could not stomach them...obviously frozen then over cooked too. Such a shame... More

We stayed two nights over new years. The first night the hotel was extremely busy with New Years Eve celebrations the staff were still very attentive, cheerful and helpful. They made you feel like you were the most important people in the place. Food was good and portions were generous. The only down side were the rooms, bar and dining... More

We went in for a glass of wine in preference to the National Trust shop by the Devil's Punchbowl National Trust car park. Reasonable, but a bit on the tired side. The Eastern European staff were attentive and friendly and surprisingly effective at silencing and diplomatically ejecting a tiresome drunk. If you pay my credit card, there's some strange malarkey about... More

Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for couple nights. It hasn't been our greatest stay to be honest. Breakfast and the food was OK. Apart from that the thing that killed us the most was the Internet which was down for more than 2 days. Lovely part of the country but won't be staying here again.

Stayed here as son lives at Bordon. Lovely old building but the room was awful, clearly the heating hadn't been on in the room for a while and it was freezing, turned the radiator on but bathroom radiator needed bleeding - it was so cold. The condensation on the inside of the windows was awful. Our room was very tired... More
