I stayed here on business. Check in was not particularly welcoming. The room was tired. I was told at check in that I could order room service but I phoned down I was told in no uncertain terms that they would not do room service because the chef was on his own! I insisted telling them that my company only... More

Very sorry looking exterior, which is unfortunate and unavoidable I suppose. Nicer signage perhaps? Don't be put off though, as this is absolutely worth every penny. The staff, from booking to arrival, Restaurant to check out, first class. Friendly, smiley and very very helpful. The leisure facilities and room were great and the accommodation of our children aged 8-13 was... More

The outside does not do the inside justice. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean and the restaurant is well worth a visit. Fabulous proper home cooked food, not 'pub grub'. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

We had a 2 night weekend stay here in quite a nice large room with balcony, overlooking the main street and the facade of the old police station. Storage space was low. The bed was rather high because of a pull-out extra bed housed underneath. It moved about a bit as the castor feet should have been set in cups,... More

Stayed just the one night but enjoyed thoroughly. We nick-named the hotel "The Stalag" - rather cruelly I admit, but if you look at their own photos, the build is quite austere and not very pretty overall! However, the cover of the book was nothing to go by! Staff: By far some of the nicest people we have met in... More

We stayed in this hotel last year and had a wonderful room with a really comfy bed. The spa area is a nice addition although it closes so early its hard to find time to use it. This year we were sent to the "annexe" rooms which are small apartments adjacent to the hotel. Purpose-built, they are spacious and private.... More

I am sitting at my table at Pete's inside the hotel. The food was excellent, now fi ishi g with an espresso. Very attentive staff, friendly and accommodating. I had the prawn cocktail, should have taken a pic before I started eating, excellent. The main I chose was not on the menu, fish & chips but was gladly taken care... More
