This must have been a lovely private house, the staff are really great, the food is quite good and the rooms very ordinary, so all in all it is let down by attention to detail and lack of attentive management. For example; Food - pasta dish swimming in a very tasty sauce rather than just coating the pasta; smoked salmon... More

For the past 23 weeks I have had the pleasure of staying at the normanhurst whilst working in Manchester. A well run family owned hotel which offers that personal touch that larger chain hotels lack. Alright it may not be to everyone's taste, but to many regular guests it certainly is home from home with plesent staff that are only... More

This is a very attractive large Victorian house, set well back from the busy main road, so traffic noise was minimal. Indeed the 2 modern south-facing annexes, overlooking lovely gardens at the rear, are really peaceful. We experienced friendly and efficient service from the start, noticing how unusual it was, these days, to have all English (British!) staff! We were... More

This is our annual christmas shoping trip and go all over north England, this year it was Manchester's turn. The Normanhurst hotel looked exellent and I have to say did not disappoint. The staff were great and couldn't do enough for you, my only bad point was being disabled I would have thought they might have taken my case up... More

Stayed here Friday 4 th to Sunday 6 th December with friends on our annual pre Christmas trip.Easy to find with ample parking, welcoming reception with coal effect fire, lovely Christmas tree, easy check in. Slight negative one, despite my friend being disabled no one offered any help with luggage to the rooms which, in a hotel, I would usually... More

I have visited the Normanhurst Hotel twice while my grandparents and their friends were staying there. It's a lovely hotel, very clean, tidy and welcoming. My grandparents and their friends were residents in the hotel whilst on a weekend break in Manchester for Christmas shopping. I visited them while they were staying at the hotel to have an evening meal... More

My partner and I chose the Normanhurst as it was not far from town on the tram yet we wouldn't get caught up in the crazy central Manchester traffic. We had come up to watch the UNICEF charity football game at Old Trafford and we were very happy with the service we received upon arrival. Equally the hotel is easy... More

Following my mothers funeral in June we came back to the hotel. All I can say is the buffet they served up was like the Iceland economy multi pack frozen stuff. Breaded mushrooms and wedges. And sandwiches on cheap bread. The staff were sneering and dishes it up like they were doing our party a big favour. I've just come... More

we are extremely sorry to learn that this customer was not happy with the buffet provided at the hotel We cater for many funerals and make a point of being very understanding with our customers at such a traumatic time. With respect to the buffet we always discuss and agree the dishes that are served so I can only presume... More
