This traditional ryokan is a bit tricky to find at first but once you have your bearings you appreciate just what a superb location you have chosen. Right in the heart of Miyajima's tourist hotspots. Close to the Tori gates, temples, shops and banks. You are about three mins walk to the waterfront. They have WiFi in very comfortable smallish... More

Miyajima is a Mecca for tourists, domestic and foreign. It's the kind of place someone wishing to avoid the tourism crush might be tempted to avoid. A quiet stay at Ryoso Yamaguchi gives this traveler the best of both worlds. The Ryoso will feed you authentic meals (or a hearty western breakfast if you prefer) but is away from the... More

The Japanese-style ryokan was about a 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal. Our room was very large, with bedding on the tatami floor, a low table with two "cheater" chairs, small TV, very good AC, a hot pot for heating water, free wifi, and an enclosed balcony. The room had a foyer that contained a sink, refrigerator and the... More

Incredible place, the rooms are really comfortable and the private onsen is really cool. From the moment you step in the owners make you feel right at home. The day after it was raining and we had to take a Ferry back to Miyajima, we asked if there was a taxi operating in the island to take us to the... More

Small basic ryokan close to famous 'Torri in the sea'. Efficiently organised (by one lady and an assistant in the restaurant) with less personal attention for guests (too busy?). We had a large room at the backside with private toilet and washbasin. No private shower, but both onsens could be locked for private use by families. Food is very good,... More

A wonderful experience. Great hospitality, accommodation, food, position in town. Can't be faulted on anything and to be recommended for a truly authentic ryokan experience. Easy to find just behind the main shopping street. Has a lovely couple of onsen which can be used privately by couples.

We stayed at Ryoso Kawaguchi for a night at the beginning of September. It was a really rainy couple of days and unfortunatley climbing on Mount Misen was forbidden due to the bad weather (still, the Momijidani park with its red bridges is well eorth a visit). On the bright side, we had Ryoso Kawaguchi with its beautifu traditional room... More

I found the whole experience of miyajima so wonderful from getting the ferry over to first glimpsing the Torri gateway that stands in the sea. I walked through hatsukaichi to get to my ryokan. the town itself was touristy but so homely as well. I eventually found the Ryoso in a back street. it is basic and pricey but who... More

Stayed for one night. First time staying in traditional Japanese accommodation so I have nothing to compare it to. Overall we had a great stay though. The inn was a short walk from the JR ferry terminal. We were able to store our bags there before check-in. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a private western toilet which... More

Centrally located and with friendly owners this hotel is a great place to stay offering traditional style Japanese rooms with modern amenities like AC and TV. Toilet is western style and sink is also in the bathroom. Baths are communal but you can get them to yourselves as the door is lockable. Hotel is centrally located just off the main... More
