There is no shower in the rooms just a toilet. The hotel has a typical public Onsen, one for each gender. This is the communal bathing facility. This was my first experience of this and was great after I had over come a little shyness. Room size is fine, everything you need. I looked through the doors of some of... More

I was not sure what to expect from a Ryokan, having never stayed in one before. Now I would opt for them out of choice. Kikunoya was beautiful inside and the staff were very friendly, although you should not expect them all to speak English. I arrived on the last ferry (2242 from the mainland) and called the hotel. Normally... More

Our room was very spacious and comfortable, and we had a good view of the Torii gate. We got the Japanese styled tatami room, which was pricier, but it was worth it. The service was excellent, we called the hotel to pick us up and the hotel manager personally came to drive us. We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and breakfast;... More

The staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. We arrived after dark and were staying just one night so we had to visit the village after checkout and they were very helpful in keeping our luggage for us while we walked around. Breakfast was very good. The Japanese baths are a great way to relax and I strongly... More

Great hotel on an island better to be devoured without tourist. Rooms: clean, good enough if you travel with backpacks. ! Rooms have only a toilet, you will have to shower in a public japanese bath on the 1st floor, but don't worry the experience is worth it! The staff is very friendly, the switched the outside illumination on for... More

We had a great stay at the Hotel Kikunoya. The pick-up at the ferry terminal was within minutes and the staff was very, very polite and friendly. The room was small but clean with sink and toilet. There was no shower in the room-and it is the first time that I would say this was good :-) We went to the... More

The staff here were wonderful, picking us up from the ferry port within minutes of phoning them, and holding our luggage until check-in time. The room was small, but had it's own toilet, sink, tv, yukatas and air con. There was no shower, but instead you had to use the public bath - which was BEAUTIFUL. This was my first... More

Courtesy pickup/drop off to ferry was efficient and punctual - simply phoned as we stepped off ferry and they were there in 5 mins. We had free room upgrade to large traditional room with balcony and sea view. Large tatami matted room with separate washing area, WC, table and chairs and the usual futons etc. Robes, towels, complimentary wash kits... More

We recently spent one night at this charming hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The Manager in particular went out of his way to make us welcome. Our room was so clean and tastfully furmished and even quite a reasonable size after some of the smaller ones we stayed at in Japan. Its a little away from the main... A western style, single room for 4,980yen. The room is HUGE. The room that I had could easily be a room for 2! (too bad I travel alone) There's a no shower in the room so I have to use the bath house, but the both house is much better anyways. For some reason, this hotel doesn't seems to have... More
