Travelled in Japan for two weeks. Stayed in all sorts of places. This was by far the most wonderful place I slept it. It's a ryokan in a hotel, so you get the best of both worlds, a mix of tradition and comfort. The meals cater to everyone, from those with sophisticated taste palates (raw squid for breakfast) to everyone... More

Location wise was great - 3 mins walk from the pier, this saves you a lot of pain especially if you have huge luggage bags. We chose this hotel as our first time at a traditional Japanese ryokan, and were certainly not disappointed! The location of the hotel is great, only a few minutes walk from the ferry, with wonderful view of the sea! We chose a traditional style room with futon mattresses, they were really comfortable! Rooms were big and spacious, we opted for... More

This was my first experience of staying in a Japanese traditional inn, or ryokan. It wasn't what I expected but I think the approach is typical of others I have stayed in since. It's a modern hotel in a great location on the waterfront at Miyajima. However the rooms are in traditional style with seat ing on the floor, tatami... More
