We stayed for 3 nights over the New Year holiday. The hotel is located next to an easy ski slope and this is what initially attracted us.
However, I thoroughly reccommend this hotel for anyone who just wants to relax in a modern western hotel with marvellous Japanese hospitality.
The hotel is on the lower slopes of a pyramid-shaped mountain and the huge bedroom window looks right out on the mountain, a thrilling view first thing in the morning.
Two other excellent features of the hotel are the traditional Japanese hot spa bath and the restaurant.
The bath is enormous and you can even go outside and take in the mountain from a hot bath too!
The restaurant is set in a floodlit forest.
Unfortunately, few of the staff speak English, but, to be honest, we never really needed to say much as the service was exceptional.
The other downside is getting there as it is very isolated, which is ultimately also its appeal too!
