We absolutely loved our stay at Playa Viva. The rooms are gorgeous, the cuisine excellent and the staff incredibly warm. The setting on a private pristine beach just 30 mins from the airport and their incredible attention to social and environmental sustainability ensure that this is a place we will return to as a family time and again!

I stayed at Playa Viva towards the end of the season in July 2015. Honestly after reading all the reviews and seeing such great comments, Playa Viva definitely holds to 5 stars! Prior to our departure, we received the welcome letter and instructions on what to bring and arrival procedures. Arrival: Taxi was super easy, we went straight to the... More

I've stayed many places in Mexico like Tulum, Cancun, and Cozumel. This spot was my favorite resort so far! Staff were superb. Room was clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited my needs. Food was fresh, local, and excellent. Walking on the beach was picturesque. And the things this resort is doing for conservation, regeneration, and philanthropy of the local area is... More

We love coming here. This is our fifth stay at Playa Viva and it is still fun and exciting. The beach and setting is beautiful, the facilities are very comfortable and open to the air. The focus on sustainability adds so much interest to the stay and part of that is their involvement with the local community. There are lots... More

My brother in law chose this remote B&B for his wedding. He invited as many family members as could fit. It is not located in or near a city or town center. They have about eight palapa style casitas. Open air. You can see the ocean (and dolphins) all day and hear the ocean roar all night. The beds are... More

We spent a magical week at Playa Viva with family and friends. The staff is very friendly and goes out of its way to make the guests feel comfortable and happy. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and are ecology-friendly. The meals are delicious, healthy and home-cooked, and are served at a community table that invites guests to meet, chat... More

This was our first trip to Mexico and we wanted to avoid congested, glassed in and impersonal high-rise resorts. Yet we also wanted comfort. Playa Viva fit the bill and provided one of the most unique, rejuvenating, and personalized trips our family has taken. The accommodations are simply magical. There isn't a single pane of glass, key, or door, which... More

This was my second trip to Playa Viva. Last time I was there in early November (still rainy season) for 4 days, but this time was highlighted by clear skies and less humidity. Surprisingly, even though December is the start of their high season, the resort was not full; in fact I was the ONLY guest for 3 nights of... More

Like the last review from SLV2007 (well put SLV2007), our pick-up at the Ixtapa airport began the adventure into Mexico and to Playa Viva. Playa Viva exceeded our expectations and was a fantastic family trip with our 3 kids ages 10, 7 and 3. We arrived and were offered a cool hibiscus drink, and went on every adventure available at... From the first moment we arrived and were offered a cool hibiscus drink, to the last moments spent hugging their wonderful staff, who felt like old friends after just 4 days, Playa Viva far exceeded my expectations. We loved the staff so much. They were all amazing! Beyond amazing! Georgette is so wonderful as a yoga instructor/massage therapist/ gracious host!!... More
