We stayed at Westerwood Hotel for three nights and we had a great time. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well stocked. We had a room overlooking the golf course, The staff are smiling, freindly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is delicious with plenty of choice. The dinners also were delicious with plenty to choose from the menu and the... more

We first stayed at the Westerwood in October 2008, we had adjoining rooms on the first floor overlooking the car park and the A80 (as opposed to golf course) which was clean, well presented with an air of luxury about it. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice but it was difficult trying to find staff to tell them when things... more

Can't understand the negative reviews. Stayed for a two-day mid-week break with two young daughters. There were ample staff who were, without exception, exceedingly pleasant and helpful. Everybody had a smiling face, and our room, the pool area and everywhere else we saw were clean (although we didn't use the gym). There was a mistake on our meal bill where... more

Golfers beware. Do not go anywhere near this place. The golf course is a disgrace and once they have your money the treatment you recieve from the hotel is very shoddy. We had booked our weekend away 10 months in advance yet were told we couldn't get into the main restaurant for our second evening. We were punted upstairs to... more

My husband paid for my daughter and myself to have a spa break as a christmas present. The Westerwood seemed to fit the bill for what we were looking for and did but for a few minor problems. The rooms on first inspection looked lovely but the bathroom let us down. There were dry urine staines on the toilet seat... more

This is somewhat of an anomaly within the hotel world. Having worked in a hotel for several years and having travelled throughout the world staying hotels, hotel has unique place in my memory. You only have to scroll through the many comments below to see that peoples experiences differ somewhat. If I was the general manager of this hotel I... more

We stayed for 3 nights from the 15th February and booked a small reception for 35 people. Upon arrival no porters to assist with bags, the receptionist pointed to the trolley and we took our own bags to the room. The same thing happened upon departure. This I expect at travel lodge but not in a 4 star hotel. The... more

Well where do I start. Phoned the Westerwood the day before to reserve a table for dinner. I was assured by the member of staff that I did not need to. We arrived at the hotel, which looked very nice. On arrival, there was a wedding taking place and a large group of people watching the rugby in the bar.... more

Had heard lots about this hotel from friends - and wasn't disappointed. Loved the lovely large room that I was allocated. Very clean, recently decorated with large bathroom. Lovely views over the golf course. Never heard a sound all night. more

Wife, two young daughters and I planned a night away in a 4 star hotel - a swim, good quality meal and leisurely breakfast was on the agenda. We booked the Westerwood via 'Classic Britain' - hotel website looked teriffic, wee bit pricey (over £160 for 1 night) - but - based on website - looked like a luxury establishment... more
