This isn't a hotel, more like a British B&B where you're met on arrival and then left to it. It's a rather rambling property, quite characterful, and set in lovely grounds and next to the coffee processing plant. When we stayed there was no bar facility, but there seemed to be no problem with drinking beer that we'd brought ourselves.... More

I didn't stay at the hotel but it is nice to know it exist. My guide bought me here as part of my "Ruta de las Flores" tour in El Salvador. This is not only the property of a hotel but is the property of a coffee factory which processes coffee for exportation and to be sold domestically. I enjoyed... More

We stayed in one of the rooms in La Casona (the farmhouse). Big room with big bathroom, unfortunately too farm from the entrance to have wifi signal in the room (no problem to use wifi in the study). Very pleasant welcome (although the place was still busy after having organised a wedding the previous day). Gardens are very beautiful. Breakfast... More

My friend and I just spent the weekend in the Casona (big house) of the Finca del Carmen. The Casona is separate from the hotel. It is just as it sounds - a very spacious old Finca house still furnished as the owners furnished it decades ago. It is like stepping back in time. Our room was clean and spacious... More

A friend found this coffee finca online and it would be a semi-involved day of travel to get there. But we figured it would be cool. It was straightforward to get to on chicken buses. We got to the beautiful plantation and we were the only two scheduled for the tour (we called ahead). $5 for a 1hr tour of... More

A great & convenient place to stay just outside of Ataco town (5 mins walk away). We stayed in La Casona in a spacious and comfortable room with ensuite bath. The gardens and social areas are gorgeous and Dora the housekeeper was really lovely in helping us find our way around town. To be honest the only reason I am... More

We stayed at a double bedroom in La Casona. Our experience was amazing. A house with all the charm of old times, but all the comfort of modern ones. Clean, comfortable and with lots of personality. At breakfast we met the owners, who are wonderful, warm and welcoming. They gave us many useful tips, on things to do in Ataco.... More

We stayed at Quinta El Carmen for 3 days right after New Years. It was absolutely amazing. The Alfaro family who owns the finca and is not being run by the 4th generation are very involved in running every aspect of the finca, and therefore they make sure their guests feel very welcome and the facilities are well-kept. We had... More

Just to sort out the basics, El Carmen Estate coffee plantation has TWO different places to stay; La Casona, which is the old plantation house, and Quinta El Carmen, which is a totally separate property, Confusingly, TripAdvisor has reviews of both places under one heading. Just to add to the confusion, NEITHER of the hotel venues is at Km 97... More
