Japan can be very hit and miss. I've paid a lot of money in the past and and ended up staying in some pretty woeful places. Conversely, at times when the expenditure has been limited, I have been pleasantly surprised, as I am now with the New Shiobara Hotel.
The hotel is another remnant of the bubble era construction boom....
