Hotel Alp, Myoko Japan. The Hotel itself is ageing. The rooms were on the smaller side but the location is great. This was the first time I had stayed at a joint where I could snowboard to my front door! The Hotel is an older styled building but it is well kept. The facilities were average but the outdoor onsen... More

Fantastic location, with genuine ski in ski out and only about 100m to lots of restaurants shops and the post office with ATM (only one in town for foreign cards) Lift tickets are cash only so keep track of your cash and keep in mind the ATM is not open 24/7. Opening times are on the post office door. Hotel... More

This was our second stay at the Alp and we found it as enjoyable as the first. We had a Japanese room this time - much better than the western as you seriously have twice the room. We had no complaints about any of the services or facilities - breakfast was plentiful and varied during our 8 night stay and... More

I feel bad about giving this an average mark as Satomi by herself gets an excellent. However I do not expect to have to wear my coat to breakfast. Nor do i like margarine and cold eggs. Breakfast is the most important meal when skiing and I have to say it's truly awful . i bought butter and good jam... More

Loved the welcome dinner we booked, so traditional & food was great at every breakfast something different! Satomi is delightful, and all her staff were so helpful & friendly. Stayed in Western Rooms and used the common area on our floor every night was ideal for travelling with a group.

We booked this hotel on the advice it was a ski/out hotel. This was the easiest ski in/out hotel I have stayed in in 40 years of skiing. Even my 5 year old grandson after 3 days of skiing and three lessons could ski back ( with a little assistance). The Hotel was less than 100 meters from the nearest... More

Our family spent 10 days at the Hotel ALP and could not have asked for a more welcoming and hospitable experience from Satomi and her lovely staff. Well set up for families, very relaxed and comfortable. Be aware though that the traditional rooms have futons to sleep on floor which was a little bit of acculturation shock for this Aussie... We have just enjoyed a 10 day stay at the Alp, this was our first trip to Myoko and we had a great time. As a family of four we took a Japanese room, which was noticeably larger than the Western rooms. Every evening you roll out the futons and doonas and make up the beds on the floor, the... More

Although this establishment is like a 1950s timewarp and smelled a bit like my Nanna's house (sorry - but I do need to manage your expectations!!) the owners are so delightful , the location so ideal and the facilities so good - it really doesn't matter. And it has an osen - both indoors and out, washing machines and dryer,... More

We stayed for 4 nights during New Year. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Ski in and out is only an option for those who use the beginner slopes around the hotel. For expert skiing it is a 300 meters walk up and down to the main road to catch the bus to Suginohara (45 min one way). The hotel... More
