My wife organised this weekend as our annual turn and turn about wedding anniversary weekend due mainly to the fact that I had always wanted to see sea otters. After a lovely drive from Glasgow we arrived and were greeted by the lovely staff and after a quick stroll along the sea front we went for dinner and drooled over... More

My friend and I rented a house next to the Glenelg Inn in May of 2015. (Note that we are not reviewing the hotel part off the Inn, only the pub/restaurant.) We knew we could arrive late in the day because there was an inn next door where we could have dinner. Little did we know how essential the Glenelg... More

It was love at first sight from the moment we walked into the bar that exuded character and charm with its gorgeous tables and mismatching benches, chairs and settees and candles dripping beautifully down their bottle holders. The finished look of the place didn't feel forced but as if it had naturally evolved over the years. Lola the dog snuggled... More

I always like the anticipation out an out of the way Inn/pub restaurant and this one didn't disappoint. Plenty of character and atmosphere and the log fire helped. Staff were attentive without being in your face. The menu varies from day to day which is good and all the food was cooked to order although the local Glenelg crab claws... More

A return visit with friends on a recent holiday in the Highlands. Never disappoints and again a happy return. Set in a somewhat remote and beautiful part of Scotland the Glenelg Inn has a warm traditional bar filled with all the characters you could possibly wish to meet. Great food, with the delightful chef (after a degree of banter), kindly... More

We ate here whilst we stayed in Glenelg, the food is fresh and well prepared and presented. the choice is very goods for such a small place and changes each day depending on the local catch. All the staff are very pleasent and have a good knowledge of the menu. Some evenings there is live music and at weekend it... More

We visited on a beautiful sunny day and enjoyed the garden view over the sea. We ordered two Ploughman's lunches which cost us £16. It was tasty, but consisted of a tiny slice of pie, two mini pieces of cheese, a couple of triangles of dry bread, tablespoon of relish a quarter of an apple and 3 berries. Not value... More

We stayed one night while exploring the Isle of Skye we had a scrumptious dinner to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Huge crab claws, pork and linguini. The setting is a charming, rustic, locally loved pub style inn and restaurant with a roaring fire, busy bar and friendly conversation all around. Our room was spacious with a great view. The bathroom... More

We had an excellent few days at the Glenelg Inn. The location is excellent for exploring Kintail, Lochalsh and Skye (with the Glenelg ferry operating in the summer). The rooms are good value, they are very clean and the size is okay. One issue is that although the bathroom contain a 'trendy' freestanding bath, there is no proper shower, just... More

Second time driving over from Plockton. Lovely circular route via the ferry this time. We usually come in October so miss this treat. The inn! Last time we saw they were preparing for Halloween and wished we were staying. Cant remember what we ate but today we had two lovely pints of Dechars a delicious smoked mackerel pate and warm...
