have been going to Glenelg over the years and the food, the scenery and open fires make it a must whenever I'm i the area, The drive alone over the mountains is worth it before you dip down into Scotland's capital of sheepdogs :-) and then find yourself nested at the Glenelg Inn overlooking the Island of Skye.

We were, perhaps not surprisingly the only guests in the Glenelg Inn on a glorious March weekend. The area is of course lovely and the Glenelg has a monopoly of hotel accommodation. The pub is pleasant and the bar food was fine although the choice was surprisingly limited. The staff were very friendly and we had a great evening in... More

Where do I start. Every box is ticked. Location, Service, Food, Character, Locals, Staff, Atmosphere I could go on and on and on. I would love to keep this place a secret so I'm guaranteed a room every time. Every visit we are welcomed like family coming home to visit. If you haven't been here make it your next destination.

My husband, Jim, and I stayed three nights at the Glenelg Inn and could not have been happier. We were warmly welcomed the moment we arrived, and treated somewhere between family and royalty the entire time. The Inn itself is lovely - spotless and comfortable, especially our big bed, with thoughtful touches like biscuits at your bedside. The location can't... More

We stayed here for three nights in January 2015 and loved the place as well as the whole area of Glenelg. The pub had excellent beers and whiskies, served really good food, and the staff was quite friendly - as were all of the locals that we spoke with while we were there. Sipping single malt while sitting by a... More

Whilst exploring the area on a beautiful day, we stumbled upon the Glenelg Inn. The scenery around it is beyond spectacular, and the bar is cozy with a roaring fire and all manner of Highland accoutrements. I had a bowl of delicious home-made tomato and olive soup. Highly recommended. One tip... in relation to some other reviews, if you go... More

I looked at him with raised eyebrows in disbeleif. I aked about an evening meal and he told me they would have a table... More

The Glenelg Inn is full of charm from the warm welcome to the cosy rooms to the crackling fire in the bar. The views from the bedrooms are second to none. Even on a blustery, rainy, autumnal morning in the Highlands it was breathtaking. The room decor was simple and inoffensive and the room and bathroom were good sizes and... More

What a great time we had at Glenelg. If you're looking for a good, old fashioned west highland place to stay and a great hooley with the locals thrown in, then this is where it happens. This is not the Waldorf Astoria, but it's much more fun. Can't wait to return.
