This hotel was a gem for us in a few ways - it gave us direct access to the bus to Ogizawa to start the Alpine Route (around the corner at Onsenkyu), they transferred our bags all the way to Toyama for 1300 per bag and the staff were just so nice and helpful. The public baths were also excellent... More

Positive : friendly helpful staff Lovely room Great to start hike, beside the omachi onsenkyu stop Will deliver your bags from the hotel so you can catch the first bus and beat the crowd. Great onsen. Negatives: Public bus only runs to 5pm so taxi is about 2500yen after... More

the hotel is a fantastic stopover after the alpine route. we went on low season, thus got very good deal with expedia. booked an 8 tatami room and got upgraded to a 10 tatami room. the room is very quiet and offers a tranquil view. very spacious and clean staff spoke very little english but they always wore a big... Location is quite far from Omachi, and lack of public transport to reach the place. Bus runs every hours until 1615 or 1715. The onsen resort area is quiet in the night. There are restaurant and convenience store nearby, but because it rained in the night I don't have a chance to visit them. Room in spacious, and there's breakfast... More

This is a great hotel to stay at before or after you complete the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. The hotel is set in tranquil surroundings and yet within two-minutes' walk of the Onsenkyo bus stop. Rooms are big and comfortable. Onsen has both indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor cold tub and a sauna room. Souvenir shop carries a good... More

We stayed here the night before going over the alpine route, it's a great location for it. As others have mentioned, the bus for the alpine route has an Omachi Onsen stop which is between Shinano Omachi station and Ogizawa. The stop is just outside the hotel entrance. We arrived after the last bus has already gone so couldn't use... More

Stayed overnight after Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route. Hotel very close to Omachi bus station. Luggage already forwarded and put into room on our arrival. Our check-in time at 5:30pm was busy; maybe because every other local travellers also arrived by own transport same time. Receptionist spoke limited English. Needed to wait for another 10 minutes for a fluent English representative... More

Stayed here the night before doing the Alpine route. Caught the bus from Shinano-omachi station. Took about 10 minutes to reach. Bus stop and a cuple of shops right next to the hotel but not much else. Staff didnt speak much English but tried to help as best they could. Room was clean, food was large buffet with plenty of... The hotel is less than 5 min walk from the Omachi Onsenkyo bus-stop, easy to navigate and set upon natural forest and mountain scenery. I was suitably impressed that they had placed my luggage nearly in my room by the time I got there. Staff were very hospitable and kind. I stayed over a night after going on the Tateyama... More

We arrived at the hotel at sunset after completing the fabulous Alpine Route. Unlike other major "onsen" towns in Japan, Omachi is a small and quiet one, making it a perfect place to relax and rest. The exterior of the hotel is Western-styled, but the guest rooms are in traditional Japanese style, an interesting contrast indeed. We really enjoyed the... More
