The Balmacara hosted my daughter's reception following her magical wedding at the Eilean Donan Castle. Helen and her staff treated us wonderfully. The food was fantastic, the accomodations excellent, and most of all the people working at the Balmacara were awesome. Between Helen, Elaine, Arthur and all the rest, they made our visit extra special. I can't say enough about... More

We held our son's wedding and were delighted with the warm welcome and excellent reception. The staff were very welcoming and did the best to make it a very special day.We had booked all the rooms and althought some were a little dated, everything was very clean and the surrounding scenery made up for any shortfall. This hotel is in... More

Having read the some of the reviews below I'm surprised we are talking about the same place! I stayed here on a 1 night business trip and was given a friendly welcome on check in. The room was small but had all the amenities I needed and for the price I paid online of only £40 it really was a... More

By the time we had reached this place we too tired and hungry to go any further, but it really wasn't worth the stop. The hotel restaurant only had tables if booked (even though we arrived an about 8.30 and the place was almost empty) and the public bar was more like a church hall that happened to have a... More

Arrived unexpectedly and staff were very helpful and accomodating. The twin room was very clean and bedlinen spotless. The ensuite bathroom was also immaculate. Furniture was a bit old fashioned and the decked patio area outside the bedroom was in need of a good scrub and paint, but overall it was comfortable. The television was tiny by today's standards, a portable... More

This hotel was a great find. Right on the shores of The Kyle of Lochalsh, with breathtaking views. The rooms were of a good standard with everything you need after a day exploring. The food was exceptional - of a standard that you would expect in any 5* hotel. All local fresh produce and at really good prices £14 or... More

This is a lovely, clean and conveniently situated hotel between Eilean Donan Castle and the Skye Bridge. It is an excellent location for exploring the Isle of Skye and the surrounding area. Although it is off the main road, there is little traffic at night, so it is quiet and has a beautiful view of the loch. Our room was... More

Stayed here for the one night in July 2011 as a base for a two day tour of the area including Skye. Its perfect for Eilean Donan, access to Skye and for the villages of Plockton and Stormeferry. Just a little further along, you can easily head off to Kishorn, and if you dare... Applecross! The hotel was a very... More

We stayed for 2 nights in room 45. The room was spacious and comfortable. We had a great view of the loch which is at the other side of the road that runs past the hotel. The breakfast was good and the staff were extremely helpful. Rooms were clean and well kept. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for... More
