Lovely situation on the edge of a loch though a little tricky to find. I had Room 1 with the creaky ceiling but it was otherwise quiet, very comfortable & well-appointed with a huge & amazingly comfortable bed: though I am normally a bad sleeper I slept well. An exceptionally good breakfast with possibly the best fruit, coffee & black... More

The facility has a direct view to the Loch and over to Isle of Skye. Parking facilities directly at the house. We were a little bit disappointed about the size of the rooms, where we stayed in room No. 6 that had direct view from the window to the beach. Personal service ist not available all over the day, since... More

We stayed at balmacara mains on our visit to isle of skye. It's very close to Kyle of lochalsh and therefore perfect for visiting the beautiful isle of skye. From there we visited also the eilean donan castle which is within a few miles. The place itself is beautiful, with stunning view on the bay, and you get that view... More

Coming up to our stay at the b and b I had a couple of lovely emails and was looking forward to our stay. The room itself was a lovely size, good bathroom, comfy beds and had lovely view of the loch. I have rated as 3 due to the lack of the personal touch, on arrival we were left... More

Recently spent a couple of nights here in early June. An absolute fabulous place to stay, while touring the Isle of Skye. A beautiful bedroom (Room 3) with a superb bathroom, and a lovely sun lounge attached. Such a peaceful and tranquil area with amazing views over the Loch. Met on arrival by a lovely gent called Norman, full of... More

So lovely, out of the way, clean and neat rooms, friendly people. Breakfast was lovely, great views, an evening walk on the beach collecting shells made this a place I have to come back to. There's no dinner served but I loved the excuse to get out into a town to experience more. So looking forward to another stay at... More

This B&B is in a spectacular setting and the hospitality is second to none. We were met by Norrie who is very hospitable and has a great knowledge of the history of the area. Breakfasts brilliant, room was clean with great vies and en suite facilities were great.

This delightful hotel, just across the road from the loch, is a lovely place to stay while exploring the western part of Scotland. The rooms we stayed in was comfortable and attractive and faced directly on to the loch just across the road. On the other side of the loch it is hilly and picturesque, and sunsets are lovely. The... We were met by a friendly man who showed us to our rooms. It was very spacious, inviting, and comfortable with a brilliant view of Loch Alsh and the mountains beyond. The bathroom was brilliant and very clean. Although there are no evening facilities the staff are very accommodating with their help and advice. The breakfast was a varied menu,... More

I stayed here for just one night but wish I couldve stayed longer. The location was absolutely beautiful and given the light evenings I went for a walk around the loch when I arrived and it was gorgeous, very peaceful and relaxing. I stayed in room 2 which was lovely and perfect for me travelling on my own and with... More
