This is a busy hotel that is really quite tired and this is reflected in the decor and the rooms. The bar is good and the atmosphere plus food were what they should be. Location in Dornie for the Castle etc is hard to beat and a little shop next door helps.

Strategic location to visit Eilean Donan Castle (Highlander's location film) just a short walk. Astonishing sunset views but you have not to forget to take a romantic evening trip to the castle. Good breakfast and appreciated dinner. A well trained hotel! We strongly recommend it. It is also a short distance to fabolous Skye Island

My husband & I had dinner here 10 days ago ( we did not stay at the hotel). The general attitude from the staff was indifference, followed by poor service and mediocre food. I would skip this dining room next time; there are better options in the same town.

To sum up the hotel in one word...grim. Old and dated inside. Clean enough, but NO shower and the smallest bath they could find in the supposed ensuite which was actually connected with another room. Not good value for money what so ever. Room lock broken and held with sellotape. Stayed here as a last resort and regretted it. Every... More

We stayed here in this supposedly dog friendly place for 2 nights with our pup. When we arrived we were told in no uncertain terms that the dog wasnt allowed in the restaraunt. We were told to leave him in the car. My partber and i took turns to watch him in the room. When my partner went for breakfast... More

Had gone off the boil but really enjoyed visit last week. Good quality real ale on draught. But most impressively the food was absolutely first class - we had steak, seafood and belly pork followed by a range of desserts. All were immaculately presented and very tasty to a luxury restaurant standard. A good wine list too. Great to see... More

My wife and I stayed at the Dornie for two nights in May, 2014 when we got married at the Eilean Donan castle on the 13th. We had 13 guests which all stayed at the Dornie and I think we were the only guests there so essentially it was our own pub for a few days, a LOT of fun.... More

I found the Dornie Hotel as a "last resort" stay. What a stroke of luck! Beautiful view, excellent simple fare, friendly staff and owner. The room was plain and rather smallish but spotless. Admittedly,, the bed was more comfortable than my own at home. Stay here. Excellent, excellent value for the pound.

Great place to visit on the banks of loch long, lovely food and the locals are very friendly, so if you are on your way to the isle of Skye it's worth your while popping in for a bit of dinner or a wee dram.
