Surrounded by outstanding, varied, original art we enjoyed a relaxed coffee with a real warmth of welcome. This is our fourth visit here. The gallery content and upbeat attitude entices us to return. The tiny hand bound books, the bay pottery tile cards,Richie Collins dornie mugs...they all rate highly on our wish list

We really enjoyed our stay at The Schoolhouse. Our room was very comfortable and we were able to help ourselves to breakfast in the morning. The stunning location is very close to local hotels for an evening meal and a walk to the beautiful Eilean Donan castle - an absolute must-see location in Dornie! Our hosts were very friendly and... It was my first experience at The Schoolhouse based at Dornie. Warmly received in this beautiful house near the Eileen Castle, such a lovely place! The advise provided by Mary were really relevant to visit the main spots and restaurants in this area. A lovely place highly recommended.

Unusual B & B with self service and cooking facilities - giving you privacy and freedom to come and go. No cooked breakfast served but all the ingredients supplied to do it yourself using great local produce. Location is ideal - close for trips to Skye and further stunning areas in the North West of Scotland. Also convenient location for... More

Dornie is a beautiful small village just before the bridge to the isle of skie and is a great jump off point for a visit in the area. we were travelling as a group of 5 - 2 couples and a single and we "took over" the whole schoolhouse - it was wonderful! The rooms were large, super clean and... More

This may be the best value BnB in Scotland, super spacious, comfy rooms, great self catering facilities with the massive attached kitchen and an ideal location if you're visiting Skye. When planning our trip we found the accommodation on Skye ridiculously over priced for what was on offer, stumbled across the School House thankfully and would highly recommend it. Easy... More

Myself and a friend had the pleasure of being hosted by the lovely and welcoming Mary Drummond, owner/operator of the The Schoolhouse. It is spotless, modern, cozy, and well-equipped with a gorgeous communal kitchen, and lovely shop/gallery brimming with local art, jewellery and other fun stuff. I bought most of my souvenirs for my entire 2 week UK trip there,... More

We stayed here while visiting Eilean Doonan castle and I would recommend it to anyone with the same plan. It's cosy and comfortable with a great outlook...also reasonably priced. The only drawback, if there is one is the commual kitchen...but, hey, that's nothing when you are visiting such an amazing area.

Just had a really comfortable and enjoyable night at the schoolhouse. It was perfect accommodation and had the best furnishings and the standard is excellent. The hostess was very welcoming and the village is cool.
