This converted abbey, run by the same family for many years, is utterly delightful. The setting in a magical valley, and the simplicity, charm and unspoilt beauty of the building are just amazing. The rooms are very comfortable and have all the facilities you would expect but are also simple, unpretentious and appropriate to the monastic history of the place.... More

En route from cousins in Le Marche, we were looking for a hotel within a short driving distance to our others cousins near Rome. What a wonderful surprise San Pietro turned out to be! Another reviewer described this hotel as magical, and we could not agree more. Set up on a hill top all by itself, this former abbey is... More

This former abbey has been simply and perfectly renovated into a comfortable hotel with lovely walking country all around. The proprietors are very welcoming and helpful. Our room, situated round the old cloisters, was simple but spacious. There is a lovely lawn with deckchairs where you can sit with a glass of Prosecco and watch the sun go down over... More

Hands down, this has to be one of the most magical places I have ever been to. My husband and I went there for our first wedding anniversary and certainly plan on going back. The rooms, the hospitality, the amazing view of the desserted town across the valley, the food... THE FOOD! The restaurant that is a 2 minute walk... More

We loved this hotel. It is a great combination of old and new. Sitting on the lawn sipping a beer after an 8 hour day of walking in plus 30deg heat was fantastic. The rooms are simple with small bathrooms and we found them wonderfully cool in the heat. The breakfast and service were great. The restaurant was also excellent and there... More

This was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed! Our room had a view over the valley, as do all the common areas, including the huge grassy terrace with a tree-shaded stone fountain. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the walking directions they provided for the deserted village of Umbrino were idiot-proof. The restaurant, although expensive, is... More

We spent two nights here based on Tripadvisor reviews. The abbey is delightful and the room was adequate. The heating wasnt turned on until 5pm. We were cold almost the whole time even though we used the spare blanket. The shower was incredibly small. The rooms are sparse which is in keeping with the abbey - however in spite of... More

More
