Yes, it is old and tired, and a little tatty in places but to be honest, it was clean, tidy and very spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. Also on the main road so there is a little traffic noise although it has double glazing so not that bad. On the outskirts of the city but there... More

My boyfriend and his friend stayed here when they went to watch a Manchester United match. I tried to arrange some beers to be in their room on arrival, the receptionist who I spoke to on the phone was most unhelpful and I didn't end up doing this for him as it was proving to be a VERY difficult task.... Was an overall good experience at this hotel.Stayed for one night after watching Manchester united.Although a bit expensive for an average hotel think they charge same price as more modern hotels nearby. Also a non refundable cancellation policy .The hotel in general is a bit in need of a refurb all over. But overall was a good stay.On arrival at check in... Bit concerned having read recent reviews but pleasantly surprised. Party of three, stayed one night. Had a double and a single room. Both rooms were a bit tired but perfectly adequate, comfy beds, tea/coffee, TV, clean and big enough. Unlike previous reviews no problem with heaters or water. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was extra but good with lots of... More

The room was spacious but freezing. After switching on both (rather dilapidated-looking) electric fires we achieved an acceptable temperature after 2 hours. The receptionist had been pleasant and friendly, but had not told us that there would be no hot water until we had switched on an (unlabelled) wall-switch. It was several hours before we got even warm water, and... More

Room cold with only small electric heater which buzzed as if likely to catch fire. Mirror in bathroom backing peeling and held up with two rusty nails. Window banged all night as did not fit properly but seeing as I decided it best to sleep in my clothes due to cold and state of room window was the last of... More

From the time we entered the room, after paying £236.00 for 3 nights no breakfast, it was all downhill. Curtains did not close they were tied up with string, toilet seat was broken and filthy, had to get maintenance to come and fix them. the curtains were fixed by a pair of scissors and re-joining the string so they pulled... We stay regularly at this hotel as the staff are just FANTASTIC!! We have stayed in many 5 star hotels and can honestly say from the warm welcome we receive each time that we return, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Manchester. People that pay £40/£50 for a room in a hotel and want the ritz are bonkers! The rooms... More
