Chose this hotel in Hida primarily because it's a 160-year old heritage building. This ryokan has character, great service throughout, comprehensive facilities, and is within walking distance to major attractions in the city. Food is not lavish but good. Yatsusankan is a lovely traditional Japanese inn (or ryokan) in rural Gifu prefecture. Yatsusan is an excellent ryokan in the very pleasant town of Furukawa. The ryokan is located beside the river which runs through town and is very convenient to the main sights. We stayed only one night, regrettably. Upon arrival, we were received warmly into a room where we were offered freshly brewed green tea and a Japanese snack.
