We loved our stay in Shimoda. We received very useful informations from the office at the station and from the other guests... and must admit we found some flyers and a map waiting for us in the guesthouse. The day we arrived, we were welcomed by a board outside the guesthouse telling us which room we could use. Inside, on... More

We've stayed with Tabi Tabi a few times over the last few years. The place is perfectly central to the beach, the town, cafes and restaurants and bars. The rooms are very clean and well designed, the aircon kicks into action in the summer heat does well to cool things off. The communal area (kitchen, bathroom and shower) are all... More

Hi Cally-Man, Thanks for your detailed description and review. We loved having you come and stay. The bikes are really the best way to get around the beautiful Kisami area. I'm glad you were able to make the most out of your little getaway. Looking forward to seeing you again, Angela & Yasu More

I spent four nights in Tabi Tabi, ideal place if you are looking for a nice accomodation closer to some of the best beaches in Izu peninsula. Even though I really loved the quiet and relaxed atmosphere of this place, as well as some commodities inside such as organic soaps available in the shower and coffee, tea, etc. in commonal... More

At first my partner and I were spooked as we were the only ones in Tabi-Tabi. It was dead quiet at night and there were few people around. It became better in the morning when we realized that Kisami (the town Tabi-tabi is in, which is a 15 minutes bus ride away from Izukyu Shimoda) is a beautiful place. We... More

Hi Adrian, Sorry to hear you were a little spooked when you first arrived. You joined us very early in the season which meant you had the whole place to yourselves! We thought you would really appreciate the privacy! It's true, the neighbourhood is very quiet, but it is also very safe. There is really nothing to be afraid of.... More

Tabi-tabi guest house was a short 3-5 minute walk from the bus stop and was very easy to access from the main train station in town. The guesthouse is very well maintained and has a very relaxing feel to it. The kitchen area is clean and well-organized and the entire guest house is very inviting. There is a computer that... More

Tabi-tabi is located very close to wonderful beaches in Shimoda, in a quiet area that still has services and facilities close by. Buses to town run from stops close by, but if you're staying for the sea you can just take a short walk to the beach. Facilities in the guest-house are good, you have access to a well equipped... Amazing value, as with tabitabihakuba. Awesome owners - super-helpful, friendly & cool - went out of their way to show us around :-) Lovely, picturesque rooms. Easy walk to one of the best beaches in Izu, great value Japanese breakfasts served nearby, and super-good Western-style food at another restaurant just a short walk away! NB Due to the area, you'll... More
