We took three rooms and stayed at the hotel for one night on March 2013. The hotel has no elevator and for the rooms on the first floor we had to carry our luggage up steep and rather back-breaking flights of stairs. March was a cold month, and in one of the rooms the heater wasn't working, so it was... More

My son and I decided to cycle from Ouistreham (Caen) to St. Malo and located Villedieu-Les-Poeles as an approximate mid-point for an overnight stop. We chose Hotel Saint-Pierre as it was cheap (we paid €53 for a twin) but it seemed well regarded in other reviews. And we were not disappointed. The room was spacious and airy, the beds were... What a find! After a long hard day watching the Tour, we chanced on The Hotel Saint Pierre, and although we were only looking for a bar, the menu looked so good we decided to stay to eat. The restaurant, while rustic, was charming and comfortable, and echoing earlier comments, the staff were excellent and the food was reasonably priced.... More

Six out of eleven of us stayed on the fourth night of our group cycling (rest were in Le Fruitier). Rather strange place. Said full on the door but very few people seemed to be staying. Two of our couples each had a quad room on fourth (?) floor which were two adjoining rooms. My wife and I should also... More

The four of us had a good meal in the restaurant. Not exceptional in any way but it certainly was value for money. We have to mention that 4'6" waitress and would like to suggest to make sure she never leaves. She's a star. Friendly, courteous, efficient, charming, you name it. Ambience quiet and good for our business meeting. Steak... More

The location couldn't be better.Right in the centre of the town.In England this would be called a coaching Inn as it was divided by a small arched entrance through which you could park.On one side was the main building and the other newly renovated rooms ,which were spectacular in design.Apart from the main restaurant which was very smart, the remainder was... We stayed at Hotel St.Pierre for a mid week break as a couple. We chose to stay in a designer room which is slightly separate from the main hotel but only by a few yards. We arrived on our motorbike which as soon as put side stand dowm immediately fell over! The chef and his assistant were out immediately and... More

My Husband and i dined here recently and weren't impressed with either the food, or the service. A limited menu and child sized portions, all served up with a dusting of paprika - one can only imagine this passed for presentation. As a teetotaller i generally order juice with my meal but was told they only had orange and apple... More

Took a group of 10 guests here for an evening meal part way through a 4-day battlefield tour of the Normandy D-Day beaches. All the guests were English speaking and opted for the 3 course menu with drinks. The prices were extremely fair and the food excellent with sufficient choice of starter/main/dessert to please a very mixed group of diners.... More
