A decent location, sensible pricing, but this hotel is definitely showing it's age. Easy to find directly off the main road and plenty of parking, but walking through the door shattered any illusions of grandeur. The doorframe leading from reception to the rooms appears to have sustained a substantial hammer attack, though the general cleanliness is fine. The room itself... more

We booked a few weeks in advance, taking advantage of a special rate. For under £40 all inclusive, we got a spacious, spotlessly clean family room. The breakfast was very basic, but at that price we can't complain. Staff were friendly. Great for families who want a no-frills but comfortable place to sleep. more

Acceptable for the price but rather tired decor with some broken fixtures in main corridor. Bathroom and bedroom clean and large. Quiet. Handy restaurant attached but didn't have the first 3 dishes we requested. The salmon was cold in the middle when it was served. Exchanged without hassle. more

Hotel room and bathroom were both spacious and clean. The bed (king size) was very comfortable. Travelodge website made it very clear, I felt, what was provided and what wasn't. Only downside was the noise from the A5 - we live in a very quiet location, so we noticed this straight away, but for one night and £50 we still... more

Stayed at this Travelodge for one night in January - the room in itself was fine but heated like a sauna with a hidden thermostat and no way to open the windows. The sink was blocked and would not drain. I arrived late with a young baby with me and couldn't leave him to go and sort things out that... more

We wanted a cheap, convenient stopover and as we got a saver deal and only paid £29 for our family room, got what we wanted. It is hard to get enthusiastic about a Travelodge, but this one was certainly an improvement on the last one we stayed in. Here the only mould was on the shower wall, not around the... more

This Travelodge compares just as favourably as others I have stayed in. Offering basic accommodation, it was clean and comfortable (no dingy corridors). Complimentary tea/coffee etc in the room (no biscuits), and one tiny bar of soap in the bathroom. No problem for us as we had our own toiletries, but foreign tourists may be used to a variety of... more

Hotel is situated next to a Little Chef and Burger King, so no problem getting food. There is also a large retail park close by and 3 pubs in Bayston Hill, which is about a 10 minute walk away. Well located for the new football ground. Approximately 3 miles from the town centre so a taxi(£5) is recommended. The hotel... more

It was a Travelodge, we stayed for 2 nights. It did exactly what it said on the tin for the price. A good experience, would stay again. more

Just read "dark and dingy" and wondered if we stayed at the same hotel? We stayed there in Dec 05...the hotel looked and smelled new. Parking lot was well lit and shared its spaces with an upscale pub. The hotel staff were polite…considering we were checking in at 11pm.....none of them became pen pals or executors of my will...but they... more
