i really enjoyed my two night stay here. It is a really well run small quiet hotel which reflects where it is. i found my room very nice and the public areas were very welcoming. i enjoyed the evening meal in the dining room and although i was the only guest eating that night everything was done perfectly for me.... more
a nice find small country house hotel on the edge of wem,it is very clean and the staff are helpful and pleasent we had 2 single rooms one was a good size and one was compact but both well furnished and comtable the breakfast was tasty we didnot have a eveing meal but heard good reports ,a very nice place... more

If you are a Marriott/Crowne Plaza/Hyatt/Sheraton type, then this place is maybe not for you. I fall into that category, but this place is NICE. It is spotlessly clean, the decor is well, georgian, attention to detail very well observed and it is generally a nice typical Country House hotel. Have just returned from The Old Rectory in Wem. This is an outstanding small hotel throughout.
