Last spring a group of 8 of stayed at the Austing Haus. One of our friends had a rare form of altitude sickness and had to cancel his entire trip. I spoke with the off-site manager on his behalf to see if they would issue any type of refund. He explained that in the contract the no cancellation policy was... More

Stayed here again for a boy's weekend. Its location is almost perfect if you don't want to have to drive down the mountain after a long day of skiing. This is probably the 4th time we stayed here. It's certainly not modern or updated or even terribly clean but it works as long as you know what you're getting. T... More

This was our first time to stay in TSV and with Austing Haus. Never again will I pay the money they charged us for a place lacking SO MUCH. I grew up in NM & the beautiful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. I love to camp, backpack, fish and hike and generally rough it. I was also raised to appreciate the... More

I've never been more disgusted and disappointed by a hotel (using this word liberally), and I've traveled extensively around the world and stayed in some rough places. Please notice the good reviews aremostly from a year ago. Also several families run this hotel together now, so some may be better than others. Regardless they are putting no money into this... My 2 adult children and I along with 2 friends stayed at the Austing Haus for 4 nights from 12/31/15-1/4/16. We absolutely loved this B&B!!! It was charming and completely enjoyable. Beth checked us in about 5 pm & gave us some great restaurant tips for dinner on the mountain as well as entertainment for New Years Eve. We were... More

This establishment is poorly maintained. The heater was broken in our room, and the room and floors were dirty. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The manager did not take responsibility for making things right. We have stayed in many Taos hotels over the years, and this is the only bad experience we've ever had.

We stayed two nights while skiing at Taos, selected this property for the availability and price. It was a difficult two nights - the first night was a late check-in; the rooms were not clean, the were stains on the sheets, there was a potent smell of sewer that did not go away - when we discussed our concerns with... My children loved this bed and breakfast. They loved the rooms, the breakfast, the hiking trails right outside, the outdoor fire pit (all kids love fire), and talking to the owners made them feel wanted. We used this bed and breakfast as a home base. We hiked in the ski valley and explored Taos.

This was our sixth year at The Austing Haus. This year we had exceptional snow, but a slow leak in a tire and getting stuck could have been a big problem, but the owner and his staff helped us keep air in the tire and our van from being stuck in the parking lot so my family could have a... More

I enjoyed my stay here. Staff went above and beyond except for one older gentleman. I asked for coffee 10 minutes after breakfast ended and he said no. The young lady and young man were extremely friendly. Do keep in mind that it is a pet friendly. Two mornings, I woke up to a dog howling unceasingly. It was very... More
