I stayed at the Austing Haus recently for a ski trip. It just recently changed ownership. The positives were that the hotel is VERY close to the Taos Ski Valley ski slopes and they provided a shuttle. The price was better than most hotels in Taos that were 20 miles further away from skiing. The breakfast was included and had... more

We were very pleased with this German themed B&B. We booked a much needed ski vacation at the last minute (Dec 25-28) and feel fortunate to have found it. The slopes are only one and a half miles from Austing Haus and two hours from Albuquerque. The skiing was phenomenal! Sadly, the original owner passed away the Monday before Christmas.... more

My husband and I stayed at the Austing Haus last season and simply loved it. The rooms were quiet and the fireplace in our room made for a perfect romantic getaway. The staff was very helpful in making dinner arrangements and answering the many questions I had. The structure of the building is amazing as well as the beautiful glass... more

We stayed at the Austing Haus and had a great time. It was so quiet and peaceful and the staff was very accomodating. The rooms were nicely decorated and the fireplace was a nice touch. The continental breakfast was a nice spread, more than we expected. The location was great, near the slopes, surrounded by forest and a stream across... more

We had a great Christmas Vacation! The staff was friendly and pleasant, and the breakfast was to die for. I've never slept in as comfortable a bed. The Inn manager Mr. Austing, is one of a kind, and was extremely helpful with the fireplace. Its hard to imagine how this trip could have gone better. more

My husband and I wanted a relaxing and quiet get away for our 6th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Austing Haus in the Taos Ski Valley. Ther were four different types of rooms to choose from and we picked the king fireplace room. The king size -four poster bed was very comfortable and the wood burning fireplace made the... more

My son and I traveled to Taos on an impromtu ski trip and booked a room at the Austing Haus at the last minute. I was pleased to find they still had a room available for both nights and the price seemed right, given the season. It was really close to the ski lifts, too, which was a big plus... more

Where to start....how about the two positives, it is very close to the ski slopes and the hot tub water was certainly hot! My husband and I booked this B & B (more like a motel that needed a serious renovation) over the Xmas & New Year's holiday on a last minute trip online through a travel agent. Because it... more
