We stayed at Ai Ababa in April 2014 The place is very understaffed. There were only two drivers- the manager, Martin and Oliver On our second night there we booked to go on a trip to see the rock paintings. It was Oliver who took us out as the manager was entertaining a group of Germans from BMW to a... More

We found this place late in the day as our prefered accom was fully booked and what a find. It is expensive, more than we would normally pay but you do get very good service and food. The rooms are large and you have your own small terrace overlooking the reserve. More info on the meals included would have helped.

Ai Aba is a pleasant lodge in the middle of nowhere, dominated by impressive rocks and offering almost unlimited views over vast plains and distant mountains. Twenty rooms in thatched huts, simple but clean, with A/C on timer, no fridge and no wifi. From the terrace you may enjoy the quietness of the place and observe the resident warthogs wandering... This lodge is owned by the people that have Okapuka Ranch about 30km from Windhoek. The rooms are suitable for the vastness of the desert, Air conditioned and earthy in their appointment. Clean and neat and fine for a night or two. No animals (well we sore none) except for a couple of warthogs eating the grass around the pool.... More

If you like rock art, this is the place. Manager Martin is a fantastic host, there is much to see in the area and he and Swen know how to find it. The lodge public rooms are lovely, open to the air, sparkling clean, comfortable and welcoming. Our room was clean, spacious, and quiet with a great view of the... More

We stayed here as part of a group tour. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff very helpful, and the food tasty and well-prepared. We enjoyed seeing animals at the permanent waterhole not far from the hotel, and got a kick out of the warthog family grazing on the grass a few feet from the restaurant. Tranquil, quiet, serene... The chalets are basic, no amenities at all, not very well furnished and are acceptable in cleanliness and comfort. The air condition is turned on at 1600 and turned off at 0700 automatically and there are no controls in the room to even adjust the direction of the fan. It was very hot when we were there and the room... More

The Lodge has 10 Cottages each with 2 Rooms. The Car can be parked close behind the Lodge. We enjoyed the good Breakfast and very good Dinner.... More

The attention to detail and dedication of the management really shows at Ai Aiba. The staff actually seemed happy, which was almost unique on our trip. The food is good, the rooms clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our time, the grounds have lots to offer in terms of culture, wildlife, birds and scenery and it's a great place to... More
