It's time for a small addition to my review below. As since the first of January this hotel has upgraded its breakfast buffet and it's definately up-to-standard. Now another investment in the coffee machine and I've nothing to complain anymore. I have stayed in this hotel a few times over the past few years... always a clean, comfortable room with plentiful breakfast (of typical Swedish fare) and great WiFi connection (which is free). The only place to be if you are dealing with IKEA. This hotel is a 3 storey building made of modular elements and equiped wholly with IKEA furniture. Insanely simple hotel. Everthing is furnished with IKEA-furniture which makes it really starnge. Nothing really matches in the rooms. The environment is stiff and feels like your living in an cell. Not a lot to choose from for breakfast and the "restaurant" is like dining in school. Clean and cheap, but horribly simple. I didnt like staying here at all.

I lived in IKEA Värdshuset for about a week when I first moved to Älmhult, while searching for an apartment. It is an ok hotel - not extravagant in any way, but it is clean and situated right next to both Ikea of Sweden, and the Ikea store. Right opposite there is a supermarket, and you have some restaurants nearby.... More

This hotel is owned by IKEA and is, as it seems, the only hotel in Älmhult center. It is clean, simple decoration but does the job well. The restaurant is ok and breakfast is also good.
