This is a very great part of the Philippines where it is close to where you go and swim with the Whale Sharks. The accommodation may be basic, it is comfortable, safe and the food truly makes up for the basic accommodation. The staff are attentive and are willing to help out in any way. I would recommend this Resort... More

Travelled to Philippines because it was apparently the best place for whalesharks (snorkeling is amazing). The accomodatipn was very nice. I stayed four nights. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. Location is perfect, the whaleshark trips leave just a short walk down the beach.

We found this hotel in Booking.com and based on price and score we decided to take it, as it was close to the tourist centre in order to do the whale shark encounter; we paid 3200 /night not including breakfast. We arrived to the resort and we were welcomed as we were living here. The check in was very fast... More

Elysia Beach Resort is one of the handful resorts in Donsol, Philippines that has direct access to the beach. It is only a stone throw away from the Donsol Whale Shark Interaction Centre. With a total of 15 cozy huts as accommodation, Elysia is a personalised and quiet resort. There is a restaurant that serves all 3 meals in the... More

We were very happy with this resort in what is a very poor community. Truly an amazing township and people who are very friendly. What was so unique about the resort was the attitude of the staff, they were not intrusive and waited your request rather than push to appease guests. Eg they weren't after the big sell but were... It is a small resort (probably less than 20 rooms) with clean, modern design that I find very appealing. I believe it is the most expensive resort in the area. PROs: - Check-in was a breeze and the welcome drinks were appreciated after the one hour drive from Legazpi -Check out was likewise hassle free. -Staff were consistently friendly and... More

Elysia Beach Resort was fantastic. You will not regret choosing this hotel. The staff were the best we met in the Philippines. The drinks were great. The food was great. It is in walking distance to the whale shark centre. This resort was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. We can't say enough good things. Donsol does not have an ATM, but... More

This is a small resort, rustic and with basic rooms but totally in keeping with the area, maintaining that small, friendly, local welcome. You have everything that you need and nothing more. But what do visitors come to Donsol for other than to see the Whale Sharks and the Fireflies - so there is no need for a Sheraton or... More

small resort, beautiful location, friendly staff. Restaurant is okay for a few days. Don't forget to visit Pangpang and Donsul, two lovely villages, Pangpang just a 10 minute walk from Elysia. Room is fine, with fantastic view (#1). Swimming with the Whalesharks is not scary at all, a wonderful experience.
