This place has a very good value for money . The rooms are very clean , at first we had a room with no window at the shower but than we moved to another room which was much better . The stuff are really helpful and nice and its very close to the center . We had a good experience... More

Early morning arrival placed in a small basic room, shared shower & toilet. Cost $6. In the morning transferred to a standard double room with fan. Aircon not required in Kalaw. You would have to be a big eater to consume all the breakfast. Too much in my view but you certainly won't start the day hungry. 5mins from where... More

This is not a paradise. For twenty dollars a night you get a basic room with internal windows and manky sheets. We woke up in the night to find two large cockroaches crawling over our bags! However breakfast is a little better than other cheap hotels in Myanmar.

Our bus dropped us off at 3am and we wandered five minutes up the street to this hotel. The lady was happy to find us a room and allowed us a late breakfast the next day so we could sleep. The breakfast is amazing, more than anyone could possibly finish. Water refill is free. The common area is beautiful. The... More

We arrived in Kalaw at 3 am, and someone from the hotel took us to this hotel. We slept for a few hours in really comfortable and cosy beds, then we took a HOT SHOWER. Yes that's right. It was boiling hot, it was amazing. Kalaw is in the middle of nowhere yet it still had a hot shower, nowhere... More

This was one of the first places we stayed in Myanmar, and it was just lovely. Room had no AC, but with the cool weather of Shan State, it was not necessary. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. There's a nice porch upstairs to sit outside on. Kalaw is small, so location is not really an issue. $25.

This guest house was the best we stayed in in the whole of Myanmar. The owner looked out for is arriving late by bus. Rooms downstairs are functional and can't beat the price. Breakfast is really good and fresh too. Highly recommend this place. Staff are all great.

We stayed two nights here, one night in a downstairs room and one night in an upstairs room. The upstairs room was more expensive $35 but brighter, warmer and a bit nicer with a double bed, the downstairs room had 3 beds in it, was colder, darker and seemed a bit more dated but cheaper at $25. Both rooms had... More

The Eastern Paradise Hotel is around a 10 minute walk from the train station, in the center of town. Kalaw is pretty small, so naturally you are close to restaurants, the market and there's even a nice bakery around the corner. The rooms aren't luxurious, but they have the basics and are clean. Kalaw gets colder at night, so the... More

We loved this place. The staff is very nice, the rooms are comfy and it's well located, close to the main street in Kalaw. The breakfast here offered something typical: sticky rice with sesame seeds, along the usual breakfast. They also let use the internet for free.
