This homestay run by Thomas and Celine is quite simple, but very full of character. The situation, on the edge of the hills gives a fantastic view of the Tamil Nadu plains below. We slept in the charming 140-year-old family house, a little cabin in the garden. Thomas gives a fascinating tour of his plantation and explains how everything grows.... More

Thomas and his family were friendly and discreet hosts. We slept in the wooden house (Thomas' old family house) in the beautiful garden, close to a hammock and a treehouse which features an amazing view over the valleys of Tamil Nadu. The place is fresh and quiet, away from the busy village of Kumily. Thomas is a member of the... More

Thomas and his family are very welcoming and accommodating hosts and run a family spice plantation across the road. Thomas' English is really good and he gave great information on a tour of the plantation and on a 3km walk to a nearby waterfall. It was very nice to be able to learn more about the area: it's history, challenges... More

Manayath Heritage is a small guest house (2-3 rooms) at an incredible location: at the top of the cliff, away from everything, 100% in the nature. Thomas and his family are really kind; they can even welcome you for lunch or dinner. The rooms are simple and charming (it is Thomas' old family house); do not expect the luxury of... More

We arrived late night at the Manayath heritage and Thomas (the owner) and his family were there to welcome us and give us a lovely meal. The location of the homestay is a little bit out of Kumily but this makes it very quiet and peaceful unlike Kumily town. The house we stayed in was a traditional Kerelan cottage and... More

This homestay is located in Chellarkovil which is about 15km from Kumily town. We found the village very interesting and had so much to offer. Thomas and his family showed us around their own spice plantation, an eco tourism initiative started by Thomas himself as well as a walk to the tip of the waterfall. All these walks were the... More

First, I want to point out that I didn't stay to the accommodation, so this review is just for the spice garden visit. I came to the garden alone and unannounced. When I arrived, Thomas (the owner) was finishing an organized group tour and asked me if I could come back an hour later, which I did - From there,... More
