Ian and Adrian let us have sole use of the dining room for a dinner with 35 of our friends and family the night before our wedding. The food was lovely, the service friendly and efficient and we all had a lovely evening. Thanks very much for having us

Whilst camping nearby I was out running and passed the Fortescue Arms. That evening I returned for a drink with my family (Korev Cornish Lager). Noting the menu we returned on our last evening for dinner. The only disappointment was that they had sold out of the rather delicious - looking chicken pie, on which my wife had her eye,... More

Lovely pub, nestling in the heart of this sweet Devon village, which hasn't changed in fifty years. ( I was last here in 1968 at the age of eighteen and recently stumbled upon it again, as my husband and I meandered through the Devonshire countryside) Charming, warm, welcoming service, open fire, delightful locals. Cosy, cosy ambiance. Great place to relax... More

We couldn't get a table on a Saturday night so be sure to book ahead in peak season. However we returned midweek and had the restaurant to ourselves. The customer service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The portions were more than generous but we were able to take the uneaten pizza away in a box. The children were... More

Ate at this pub on Thursday evening. We were a large party of 14 including plenty of children. We had booked in advance and phoned our orders through our order the night before. We were in a pub lounge on our own and the pub itself was very welcoming an tastefully decorated. The service was friendly and attentive an even... More

We visited the Fortescue Arms on recommendation from the owner of the cottage we were staying at. He told us that the food was excellent and he was absolutely right. Our group chose from the regular menu, pizza menu and daily special board and all were excellent. We were made to feel very welcome, both by the pub staff and... More

We stopped here for a meal and were just expecting the usual pub grub but we were so pleasantly surprised, the staff could not be more friendly and welcoming and the food was fantastic, I has the sea bream which was cooked to perfection and even the vegetable were yummy, not your usual over boiled frozen rubbish. My fiancé had... More

Went for evening meal as family of four. Nice dining room, really friendly, helpful service and excellent food. The food is freshly cooked and all delicious. We had starters and a main absolutely no room for a pudding! Our party included two teenage boys with very healthy appetites and only one could actually finish the main. That's the only thing... We went for easter sunday lunch. My mother, 2 year old and 7 year old daughters and my wife. The staff could not be more helpful. Good easy access for my mum who is nearly blind. The food was sublime. Good english fare cooked to perfection. Very accomadating to a fussy 7 year old who likes her pasta and sauce... More

Thank you for a brilliant family lunch. We booked for New Years Eve lunch and were made very welcome. We were so well look after, the kids were given toys to pay with, free sweets and the older boys received Legend pint glasses to take home after enjoying the real ale so much! The food was great, particularly the generous... More
