I stayed here for one night on business. From the moment I walked in, I was met with a real warmth. A smile goes such a long way for a first impression and the two ladies that met me here were glowing! The room was nice. In fact, it had everything I could want. A good shower and a comfy... More

After deciding to do a Boxing Day walk from Totnes to Bow Bridge and back, I thought lunch at the halfway point would be good. I booked a table in the bar for 3 and a dog (Inca) for 1230pm. We arrived on time and received a warm greeting by a young lady who was friendly, engaging and helpful. The... More

We stayed here for one night and it was alright. Our room had a four poster bed and a view over the river, which were both nice enough. But the whole B&B felt a bit dated otherwise: the breakfast was a greasy spoon fry up; apart from the bed, the furniture and carpet in the room were looking tired. For... More

Stayed here 10th October, amazing drive to find this place down narrow lanes one car wide which opens out onto an ancient bridge over a shallow river with a ford and there it is , everything looks great ,on the outside. We arrived to a glorious log fire burning in the entrance bar area by Hannah who was a very... More

Stayed in room No. 8. What a great room, and what a view of the river. Brilliant. To get here may involve travelling along some narrow country roads, but what a brilliant pub/restaurant. Well worth the travel. Stayed here so we could join up with friends at a holiday location near-by. Now looking for an excuse to return. The beer... More

Just a great place to stay to unwind from everyday life. It is set in beautiful surroundings with a river running just across the road with seating there. Stayed in room 7 which is a river view room, very nice. Lets get down to the food, cannot fault it. Ate there for the 3 nights we was there and everything... More

Friendly, cosy, welcoming with food and service standards far exceeding the Maltsters Arms down the road!! Highly recommend!! We loved it so much we are there 3 times in 5 days! The pies are delicious and couple next to us we're delighted with vegetarian options available

What a find, this beautiful hotel/inn surrounded by stunning scenery, sheep to the left, country lanes and warmth and welcome in bucketloads. Built in restaurant served amazing food with good ale at reasonable prices (always important)! Clean, comfortable and high on the list for a return visit when next in Devon - it was charming! Had drinks by the river in the sunshine. Watched the trout and Kingfishers from our table. Fabulous. The siting of the pub & garden across the lane couldn't be better. The pub itself looked a little old & dark but the bar lady was warm & bright. Beers well-kept & tasty.
