A small number of simple teak cottages are spread across 100 rai of farm land and hillside in a particularly picturesque location. Comfortably rustic and without pretense, you are nested in a well known organic farm with excellent restaurant. No swimming pool, no grohe bathrooms, our cottage sat in a private corner of a small pond, with lush greenery and... More

Even though my stayed was short but I could say that this place was amazing good. Environment friendly but very comfortable. Staffs are nice and kind. My little house there was P3 where I found everything was just perfect, comfortable. If you would like to slow down your busy life, I would highly recommend this resort :)

We visited the resort for a weekend stay over the Songkran holiday. The location is right on the banks of the Mekong River. Most of the accommodations are located far away from the road and quite a long trek up onto the hillside. The views of the mountains in Laos which lie just across the river are spectacular. The service... More

We had booked this place for two reasons; Location and the closeness to the cross over to Laos. We had booked a room overlooking the river and when we reached at noon we were told that there were no rooms overlooking the river. No amount of talking would get us the room of our choice. I was truly disappointed and... More

I wanted to come to this place for many years and finally I had a chance to stay here for a night. I stayed in a cottage on a mountain which can oversee Mekong river, rice fields and Laos. Of course, it is true that if you stay in a room on the mountain, you gotta climb up!!! It is... More

Rai Saeng Arun is set in a beautiful location - it was well worth the bumpy journey to get there (there were roadworks when we visited!). The walkway through the rice paddies was beautiful and the smell of the jasmine rice was lovely. It was a good challenge trying to get to the top of the steps without getting out... More

We stayed here for a night with our two children during a week's holiday in Northern Thailand. The hotel is in a beautiful location on the Mekong with cottages scattered on the hillside and river. We drove from Chiang Mai on some fairly difficult roads, arriving at about 5pm. When we checked in we were told we had to eat... More

This place is magical. Arrived in the late afternoon as the sun was starting to set. Long walk to the base of the 200 steps that take you up to your villa. In hindsight I would have taken the essentials from my suitcase rather than the large case that the porter had to struggle with. The villa was lovely. So... More

We visited Rai Saeng Arun for the second time and found it just as good as before. The owner and staff are very helpful and friendly, even though they speak little english. Breakfasts overlooking the Mekong are simple but wonderful. We dined there both nights of our stay. The first night was perhaps the best meal of our four weeks... More

It seemed a long road to get here, but the entry with its tall hollyhocks was attractive and inviting. Check in was efficient even though Enlish was minimal. Then the young man hoisted our bags on his shoulders and took off on wooden walkways across paddy fields with vegetables and trees all around. Then I saw the staircase - 165... More
