Agree with gaderati's review below. This is now Siam Guesthouse - apparently under new management. The rooms look nice on first glance but are musty and clearly haven't been cleaned for a long while. In the shared facilities there is no western style toilet and dingy looking showers. The single rooms are only 100bht per night so much you can... More

Please don't mistake this place for the Bamboo Mexican House restaurant which is about 200 m. down the street. This is the place to review the Bamboo Guest House which does have an attached restaurant serving Thai food. The setting was nice, on the hill overlooking the river and the rooms were cheap - about $8 per night but when... More

We did not stay at this hotel but we bought a ticket from the hotel to travel from Chiang Khong to Luanprabang Loas on the overnight VIP bus. Despite speaking to 3 separate people who worked there and being completely reassured that the bus we were getting was a big, comfortable bus with air conditioning and toilet, this was not... More

Ok, we searched this place out. We love our Mexican food and were not let down by the Bamboo Mexican Shop. As previous reviews have stated, this is a gem. The food was fresh, flavorful and fantastic. Don't let the 200bhat scare you away. Its well worth the price and you will leave satisfied. My chicken burrito had tons of... More

The first 3 comments shouldn't belong in this section (trip advidor please remove them if you can). I made the mistake and followed the great ratings. The Bamboo mexican restaurant everybody is talking about is a totally different and great place, up the road from this 'Bamboo riverside Hotel', now callead 'Siam riverside guesthouse'. This place looks lovely when you... More

Happened across this restauarnt on stopover before crossing Laos border. All the food is fresh, even the bread is baked fresh daily , and delicious! The owner is very friendly and very proud of his food and his ingredients. Would definately recommend, also a great place to get a takeaway sandwich for lunch (much better than the one your guesthouse... More

We were staying else where in the area and went along as we had heard how good the mexican food was. This is no longer a guesthouse and just a restuarant but a very good one. The food is all homemade and they make it from scratch once you order it. The owner is very proud of this fact and... More

I loved this place, its high up on bamboo stilts overlooking the Mekong river and has a really relaxing communal area full of National Geographic magazines. The rooms are good, again bamboo (surprisingly) and comfortable (for rural Thailand). The owner likes a bottle of Chang beer and his wife cooks a mean Mexican meal which has to be tried. After...
