I think some of the poor older reviews have been responded to with new renovations and hotel improvements, because I didn't experience any of the problems they described. I stayed at Genevieve Hotel on a budget safari. The room was clean, came with soap and a towel, and the double bed was comfortable. The shower water was lukewarm, but nothing... More

Hotel Genevieve is a simple pleasant hotel a few minutes walk from Nakuru main shopping street. Rooms are simple but reasonably comfortable and clean with basic bathrooms and amenties (TV, clean towels, soap). Staff is extremely friendly and hotel serves very simple but decent breakfast and dinner. They have laundry facilities and even a bar. Ideal for a short stay... More

First impression is good from outside but room and bathroom just average o.k. for one night stay though Staff were helpful and courteous specially kitchen staff. There is a Pub attached to the Hotel in a separate wing, it was noisy as the TV was in full blast. Continental dinner was good, breakfast just average. Well, I would not recommend... More

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel, rooms were well equipped, clean and comfortable beds. Bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. I also enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel workers, they were very helpful and made me feel welcomed and at home. Food was fantastic, tasty and healthy. I especially enjoyed the organic vegetables such as sweet potatoes which... More

Wish had read previous reviews before staying! My wife received an electric shock from the shower head as detailed by other reviewers. I am more disappointed in the third party who booked us in this hotel. Hotel is trying to be something it is not, outside looks ok but inside is, like its food, unappealing and creates a feeling of... More

The hotel is quite old. It is also noisy and some of the rooms smells of cigarettes. The rooms were shabby and the bathrooms didn't look very clean. The restaurant was old and the food offered didn't impress at all. There was a problem with the electricity in the bathroom cause while taking a shower you can feel some electrical... More

Bad, disgusting, noisy, dirty. This supposed to be a hotel, but more like a hostel. And a bad one. My room had bathroom but not all rooms had. Those who didn’t have used the restroom next to my room. I could hear everything! Just as what happened in the hotel like I would have been slept on the corridor.

The hotel looks nice from the outside, but the rooms are spartan. The shower was hot, but there was living wiring, so when I tried to change something on the shower head, I got an electricity shock. The room was kinda clean, but a lot of noise from outside...

I was electrocuted in the shower! There were live wires! I told the staff when I could actually walk and they asked if I'd like to shower in another room. I was shaken for about two days and literally shaking all that time. My terrible safari company (Absolute Adventure Africa) put me in this place. I was supposed to be... More

The local tour booked this hotel for us. The hotel boasts itself a luxurious hotel. But, the rooms were not clean at all, the flush didn't work properly. I also found a dead mosquito in the mosquito net. The rooms desperately need repair. Something good about this 'hotel': The staff were friendly. The food was quite good.
