We were staying at a hotel nearby but had heard that Merica was good so headed there for dinner. We decided to share a large pizza but were surprised to be served a pizza that would be classed as a small/medium in other places. The pizza was tasty enough, though the pizza looked to be a pre-bought one. We asked... More

Hotel is okay. Clean and safe. Big and quiet rooms. Food was okay. Nothing special. Service at concierge desk was superb. We were in quite a hurry, but very enthusiastic staff arranged us a excursion to Lake Nakuru National Park. Thanks a lot!

Good welcome of hot towels and a drink. Great breakfast and good choice of food for the buffet dinner. Staff very helpful. very good gym and pool garden. There was some noise, which I was not sure was music or air vents outside, but it did not bother me that much. Would stay here again.

This is the third time that I have stayed at the Merica in the past 18 months and it was the most enjoyable. The problem has always been the loud booming music and it is not clear as the source of the nuisance. There is a bar across the street but the culprit could easily be Merica’s own bar on... More

The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is good in the foyer, restaurant and by the pool. However, the room I stayed in was very noisy. I was on the third floor and there were bands playing two nights that I was there and when there wasn't a band playing day and night there was recorded music playing. It... More

Located conveniently in a safe and accessible area of Nakuru town, the hotel is fairly priced and very clean. From there it is possible to make an excursion to Lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Bogoria or Baringo. A hike to Menengai Crater is also an option for those like outdoor activities.

The restaurant food is monotonous. There's no wi-fi connectivity in the rooms. The rooms facing Kenyatta Avenue are extremely noisy at night, if you prefer a quiter night. The hotel is centrally located and only 5 minutes walk from WestSide Shopping Mall.

I had a room on the third floor overlooking the pool with just a hint of Lake Nakuru in the background. Loved watching the rains roll in. Room pretty basic. Use the mosquito net. Make sure you visit the Lake Nakuru Wildlife Preserve while you are there --- go early morning when the animals are up and grazing -- the... More
