Upon reaching the reception tho the weather had been cold and rainy, We were greeted warmly by Winnie the receptionist who... More

The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is good in the foyer, restaurant and by the pool. However, the room I stayed in was very noisy. I was on the third floor and there were bands playing two nights that I was there and when there wasn't a band playing day and night there was recorded music playing. It... More

Located conveniently in a safe and accessible area of Nakuru town, the hotel is fairly priced and very clean. From there it is possible to make an excursion to Lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Bogoria or Baringo. A hike to Menengai Crater is also an option for those like outdoor activities.

The restaurant food is monotonous. There's no wi-fi connectivity in the rooms. The rooms facing Kenyatta Avenue are extremely noisy at night, if you prefer a quiter night. The hotel is centrally located and only 5 minutes walk from WestSide Shopping Mall.

I had a room on the third floor overlooking the pool with just a hint of Lake Nakuru in the background. Loved watching the rains roll in. Room pretty basic. Use the mosquito net. Make sure you visit the Lake Nakuru Wildlife Preserve while you are there --- go early morning when the animals are up and grazing -- the... More

Took a room at the Merica at short notice and was most disappointed. I got a heavily nicotine soaked smoking room, and I'm not a smoker. Dinner and breakfast were pretty good and the wifi service is pretty useful - I was doing a lot of internet work during my stay. Management need badly to start a refurbishment programme.

I had previously stayed here about a year ago and had a terrible stay. The food disagreed with me - I had a nasty stomach upset, the service was terrible with staff entering my room without knocking, and scarcity of clean linen. Also, my room overlooked a night club, thus I had very little sleep. In spite of communication from... More

Had a three night stay with my 8 month heavily pregnant wife. The good: the hotel is surprisingly quiet despite being smack in the middle of town. Offered good conference facilities, and the room was generally clean. The hotel has a pool and gym which are complementary to residents, and free Wi-Fi. The bad: We received a rude shock from...
