We enjoyed staying at the SAfari Beach Lodge. The rooms are all with ocean view and directly at the beach. The only thing we did not like so much was that we could not really look the door well when we stayed inside. We did not feel extremely safe although we did not think that anything would ever happen there.... More

Safari beach used to be a wonderful hotel, but since the change in management has really gone down hill. Bad service, bad food, unclean rooms etc. Stay at Green Turtle instead.

We stayed here for a night after finding green turtle lodge full, so we were looking for things at the cheaper end of the scale. Our room was good value and looked fantastic. The food we had was variable and for the most part not worth the money however our evening meal was superb. There were signs advertising Ghanian food... More

My husband and I finished our honey moon here after months travelling around West Africa. We stayed there for two weeks and we loved it. In the morning we could see the fisherman coming into the hotel by boat with the catch of the day (usually lobster), the restaurant is fantastic (breakfast, lunch and dinner), an amazing selection of wine,... What makes this place destination is the local staff. You would think you were in Paris! The food was OK but not quite as advertised. I see that the lodge is now under new ownership which can only be a good thing. The previouse american owners were very stuck up and I was shocked the way they talked to the... More

We spent two nights (my spouse and 2 adult daughters) in March of 2010. The setting was breathtaking, the facilities were clean and tasteful (and eco-friendly), the food was fresh and delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. One late afternoon we watched our dinner (barracuda) being brought to shore by two fisherman swimming through the... More

Down the long dirt track from Dixcove and finally you pull into the oasis that is Safari Beach. Created and built by two Americans over 4 years ago, it's now in the hands of Nigerian-Dutch management. Some people have said it has gone down recently, but when I was there in late 2009 it was still great. Beautiful setting, stylish... More

We have recently returned from a trip to Ghana. We stayed at the above hotel, which is described in its brochure as eco luxury resort. The actual beach and surroundings are idyllic. We drove down an 8 km dirt road to get there. The hotel did not live up to our expectations. We list details: 1. The sommelier owner was... More

Just got back from a long weekend at Safari Beach Lodge. It's a little paradise tucked away among coconut palms on a long stretch of sand. I really appreciated the friendliness of the owners and very well trained staff. The meals were amazing (one of the owners is an ex-sommelier / chef), and the setting is so tranquil and idyllic....
