Very warm and welcoming, les even came and collected us in the pouring rain as it was getting dark and we were further away than we realised (bad mileage advice from the book!). The bedroom was lovely and heater was on and whole place was very clean and super welcoming :) les was the best craic, and food was excellent.

6 of us stayed here on our Hadrian Wall walk - Les is a great host - what you see is what you get and that was perfect for us, Pet. Food was filling and wholesome and it was great to have a choice of main courses, puds, beer and breakfast items. This is a 'no frills'place - solid in... More

Having walked 12 miles of Hadrian's Wall up and down the When Sill the Old Repeater Station was a welcome sight. Les provided a great Geordie welcome-everyone woman is 'pet' and every man 'mate'. The food was very good and the beer welcome. The rooms were comfortable if masculine but it's a fabulous location just after ( or before!) the... More

Never fancied a bunk house, I'm still damaged by school field study trips! Got to say though, I would be less worried now, Les is such a fantastic host. Genuinely warm and witty, but don't let him take credit for the evening meal, (ring in the morning), which was really very good! A very good position for Hadrian's wall walk.

Based on the reviews here we booked an ensuite twin at the Old Repeater Station...we were not dissapointed! Its location is rurual in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Upon arrival we were not even out of our car before Les appeared to welcome us. It was about a 730pm arrival after a long drive and we... More

Five star at the very least. The stay with Les at the Old Repeater Station will go down as one of the most memorable and comfortable one night stops I've ever had. Everything has been thought out for you, the tired and hungry guest. Great rooms and showers. Superb evening meal and breakfast and great conversation. Well done Les, all... More

What a charming proprietor, full of good humor and a warm bright place to stay. The inside is recently renovated with all sorts of modern details including Wi-Fi. Leslie fixed dinner for us - and when mine came with onions and peppers (I'm allergic), he cheerfully went back to the kitchen to see what else he could put together. He... More

Words cannot describe how grateful we were for Leslie's kindness! We had been hiking Hadrian's Wall, were totally exhausted and he greeted us with the best pot of tea I've ever had. The house is beautiful and we felt totally at home! So happy we crossed paths with Les, and highly recommend Old Repeater Station for a weekend getaway or... More

After a long day of walking with the kids we were greeted by Les at the gate, ready with a cuppa or a beer and a warm fire blazing! perfect! The kids played chess while we ladies relaxed in front of the tv...much needed break. We had arranged for supper the day before- and what a supper! Les is an... More

Leslie was very welcoming and wonderful character! We were greeted with a large pot of tea and chocolate biscuits and a heater switched on in our room. The home cooked dinner was delicious and good selection of hot and cold bits for breakfast. Clean, child friendly, highly recommend!
