Les became a good mate from my 1st stay 3years ago; none of your cosmetic polite smiles, just 110% pure northern friendliness in quiet Hadrian Wall countryside so great for Wall walkers. During 1 stay, a Dutch family had an accident cycling to Les's; he found them & rescued them and drove them to the local hospital. Rooms vary to... more

Excellent location. Stayed here with our local walking group for 5 nights - Great food and great beer ! Les cooks a delicious breakfast and is a very kind and generous host. If I should return again to walk the wall this is where I would stay - the views from our top window were spectacular and to just step... more

Perfect location for walking the wall and the host Les made us feel very welcome. We had one of the top floor twin rooms with ensuite shower & toilet room for 1 night. Comfortable beds and a clean room. Les prepared fantastic homemade food with local produce (butter and great beer!) - the steak and ale pie comes highly recommended... more

Stayed with my 16 year old son, for 4 nights, we were cycling and generally sightseeing - Les is a very relaxed, welcoming, and friendly host. The food was excellent, the choice of beer superb and the wine good as well! The location is superb, only 2 miles from Housesteads, and just below the wall near Milecastle 35. Secure parking,... more

Stayed here whilst backpacking Hadrian's Wall. Very handy for the wall path, rooms well equipped, clean and welcoming, food excellent. The host is quite a character, in a good sense, and made our stay even more fun! Would definitely recommend. more

Walking coast to coast and found the Old Repeater by chance on a web site. The first thing is itd great location; then you meet the great host. Its a warm spotless establishment with great food and character. Of the whole coast to coast walk this was supreme. Its not just walkers though; it has much to offer everyone. A... more

A comfortable, laid-back accom. The location is fab, smack on Hardrian's Wall. Very close to several Roman sites and half way between Carlisle and Newcastle. The en-suite rooms and top are best and have great views (get up early for sunrise). Food good value and host a good laugh. Very chilled out atmosphere. more

This is a great place to stay if you're on a tight budget; offers bunks in small dorms and en suite double rooms (I stayed in one of these). Spectacular views of the Whin Sill and Hadrian's Wall from my bedroom and bathroom, comfy bed, and filling breakfasts to set you up for the day. The bus that runs along... more
