Stayed here one night whilst walking Hadrian's Way. Arrived just after heavy shower but after putting outer gear into the efficient drying room were soon seated in the warm [wood burner] lounge with a beer. Les the owner was attentive from the start. The building has been tastefully converted into modern living space for himself and guests. We had a... More

Spent the weekend here to walk on Hadrians Wall. This very comfortable guest house is run by a very helpful, attentive and amusing host. The rooms are very comfortable, warm and there is a lovely hot stove to sit in front of in the guest sitting room. Breakfast is awesome, there must be an excellent local butcher and Les kept... More

We stayed at the Old Repeater Station as part of a coast to coast cycle ride along Hadrian's Cycleway. A small word of warning; if you are doing this cycle ride then the Old repeater station is a couple of miles north of the route. This is fine, except there are a couple of hills between the route and the... More

The ORS is in a stunningly beautiful part of the countryside and we were met by Les with a welcoming cup of tea. Our attic double-bedded room was comfortable and well-appointed. The whole place was fresh and light with a homely feel to it. Great selection of bottled local beers - the chilli 'Beacon Fire' was so unusual, quite delicious... More

Les welcomed our group of 6 in at 11pm and woke up early to see us off with a hot breakfast at 6am: we were walking the Wall in 2 days, so there wasn't much energy around to do more than crash out. The food was great, accommodation clean and inviting and Les could not have done more for us.... More

My hubby and I recently organised a Hadrians Wall Walk and stayed at The Old Repeater Station for 5 days as a central point for the 5 days walk. This place is in the middle of no where, it is quiet, beautiful. peaceful...and stocks a whole host of real ales from local breweries too! There is a cosy living room... More

Unique! There is no other word for the Old Repeater Station. And it also applies to host, Les and his more than able assistant, Tracey who is truly a treasure, as Les says. If you enjoy somewhere that's quirky and a bit different, this could be the place for you. We spent a great two nights here while walking Hadrian's... More

We stayed at the Old Repeater Station for one night while walking Hadrian's wall and could not have enjoyed it more! The Old Repeater Station is just a short distance from Hadrian's wall path, in a beautifully quiet spot. The room and bathroom were both spacious and clean. Les, the owner was firendly, generous and helpful. He had emailed us... More
