Brilliant views, very warm and friendly welcome and tasty breakfasts made with excellent ingredients. We stayed for a wedding and met many returning guests, always a good sign of a place you know you want to come back to.

Arriving on the motorbike and being told you can put in the garage is one of the best things you hear at a b+b. Was then given advice on two good routes to ride over the next two days, Les is a brilliant host with a decent selection of bottled local ales. Would stay there again and perhaps even look... More

Very warm and welcoming, les even came and collected us in the pouring rain as it was getting dark and we were further away than we realised (bad mileage advice from the book!). The bedroom was lovely and heater was on and whole place was very clean and super welcoming :) les was the best craic, and food was excellent.

6 of us stayed here on our Hadrian Wall walk - Les is a great host - what you see is what you get and that was perfect for us, Pet. Food was filling and wholesome and it was great to have a choice of main courses, puds, beer and breakfast items. This is a 'no frills'place - solid in... More

Having walked 12 miles of Hadrian's Wall up and down the When Sill the Old Repeater Station was a welcome sight. Les provided a great Geordie welcome-everyone woman is 'pet' and every man 'mate'. The food was very good and the beer welcome. The rooms were comfortable if masculine but it's a fabulous location just after ( or before!) the... More

Never fancied a bunk house, I'm still damaged by school field study trips! Got to say though, I would be less worried now, Les is such a fantastic host. Genuinely warm and witty, but don't let him take credit for the evening meal, (ring in the morning), which was really very good! A very good position for Hadrian's wall walk.

Based on the reviews here we booked an ensuite twin at the Old Repeater Station...we were not dissapointed! Its location is rurual in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Upon arrival we were not even out of our car before Les appeared to welcome us. It was about a 730pm arrival after a long drive and we... More

Five star at the very least. The stay with Les at the Old Repeater Station will go down as one of the most memorable and comfortable one night stops I've ever had. Everything has been thought out for you, the tired and hungry guest. Great rooms and showers. Superb evening meal and breakfast and great conversation. Well done Les, all... More
